Sorry, but there is no winner. No one in the political game has your best interest in heart.

It's economic terrorism. You don't pay the ransom, AIG collapses the economy.

There's a few more sides than just Dems and Repubs.

What's the difference? They are both in business to take other people's money and are more than likely crooks.

We already have Socialism, just the people are not on the receiving end. Most of what people complain about being Socialism is more like Corporate Feudalism. As evidenced by these massive bailouts. We are their serfs.

Why do you think the Chinese have been buying up most of the US business market? They have controlling shares in quite a bit of our market. Just go to Wal-Mart and look at the stuff people blindly buy to see the truth. They have been waging economic war on us for years. All we can do is blame each other, or worse our own government.

The US is just reaping what it has sown for years. Free and easy money does not come without strings attached. In this case, it has led to our downfall. The people need to understand that what they buy and their lifestyle habits play more into this mess than any political vote. If you keep buying stuff from the enemy, they will do their best to undermine your world in their favor. Look how much we have sold out to other nations in the name of the "Free Market", which none of the other countries have done. This sort of thing does not work in our favor unless the field is level, and all play by the very same rules. All this externalization and outsourcing has led to the destruction of our very means of getting out of this mess. Could it be possible that it was helped along in a very covert manner, taking advantage of American greed. Maybe there are a lot more forces at work here than Donkeys and Elephants, and they are just the stool pigeons to keep us distracted.

China is trying to displace us in the grand scheme of things. They have been whittling away at us for years.

To top it off, we have been shortchanging our government for the last 15 years in the name of less taxes, forcing us to borrow from our enemies to keep what's left of the government running. "Starve the Beast" I believe the Repubs call it. Now it has finally caught up with us.

I think politics has no place on an Astronomy website. It turns people off from the hobby. If you want politics go to DailyKos, or FreeRepublic.

I totally agree. Man will perish forever unless he leaves this planet and spreads into the rest of the universe. Mars is the key. The Moon is a waste. You can't even get from the moon to mars, the orbits are not in synch. It is far easier to get to Mars from earth's orbit.

I don't believe ANY private company exists for the good of the people. They are the very ones that should not be controlling our health care. They have a vested interest in keeping us broke with no benefits whatsoever.

They are notorious for doing some VERY unethical things to people in order to maintain their bottom line.

I believe you are correct. Most of the ones making all the noise against have a vested interest in maintaining the profit margin, or at least they have been paid in some manner for their loyalty. The others of their ilk seem to be going with the herd or the confines of dogma.
