Hi again guy's

Well this is another shot from Coonabarabran and another first for me. smile
Shot with the ZS 66SD/.8 reducer through a SXV-H9C and guided with a ZS110 on a G11 mount.
Exposures on this were 10 minutes x 12 and data was captured,aligned & combined with AA3 and post processing done in CS2.

Hi again all,

I don't mean to bore everyone but I reprocessed my M45 shot and hopefully did a better job with the color balance and would like some feedback on these adjustments.

Tarantula Nebula

Hi all

I shot this up at the Blue Mountains last night and wanted to share It with you all.
Shot through a ZS 110/.8 reducer with a SXV-H9C and guided with the ZS 66SD on a G11 mount.
I did plan on a copule of hours on this but the clouds had other ideas and only managed 4 minutes x 10 total exposure time.
AA3 was used for Capture,align & combine and CS2 for post processing and I hope you all enjoy one of a Southern treasures.

NGC 104 (Tucanae 47 )

Had some clearing in the skies on thursday night so decided to try this one out .
Exposures were 2 minutes x 30 and shot through the ZS110 with the SXV-H9C .
This glob has a very bright core and is a bit tough to deal with but we do what we can I guess and for me It's another first and I am a glob lover !

Hi all

Finally got around to shooting this one again from a dark site.
Shot through the ZS 66SD/.8 reducer with a SXV-H9C guided on a G11 mount with a ZS 110.
The exposures were 4 minutes x 29 and captured,aligned&combined with AA3 and post processing was done in CS2.

NGC 2516 (Carina Cluster)

Hi All

This is a shot of a colorful open cluster in Carina NGC 2516.
This is reported to be about 1 degree in size and shines at mag 3.8 and at a distance of 400pc make for an excellent low power telescope view.
I shot this with a SXV-H9C through a ZS66SD/.8 on a G11 mount.
Exposures were 30 x 2 minutes, AA3 used for capture combine & align and CS2 for post processing.

Hi All
This shot was taken from Coonabarabran which is 5 hours NorthWest of Sydney and a very dark site.
Exposures were 10min x 12 shot with a SXV-H9C through the ZS 66SD/.8 reducer guided on a G11 mount through a ZS110.

I used AA3 to capture, align&combine and CS2 for post processing where I used levels and curves to stretch and some Highpass layer masks for sharpening and gaussian blur for smoothing.

The seeing was very average but the transparency seemed very good on this night so I guess we can't always wait till conditions are perfect or we would never get a shot in.

This galaxy is very low on the horizan for us down here but It's one I've been wanting to shoot for a while now.

I found It vary difficult to process,It needs much more exposure time and I think that I should of used longer subs,but anyway I'll look to add to It in the future.

Hi All

This is a shot of M1 I took from my trip to Coonabararan last weekend.
I shot this one with a SXV-H9C CCD through the ZS110/.8 reducer guided with the ZS 66SD on a G11 mount.
Exposure time was 10 minutes x 12 and I used AA3 to capture align & combine and post processing done in CS2.
There is no doubt in my mind that this is an object longing for a higher resolution instrument.
Anyway I hope you all enjoy It and of cause all advice is always welcome !

NGC 3324 (emission neb in Carina)

Hi All

This is an interestng emission nebula in Carina that doesn't seemed to get imaged that much.
At a distance of about 12000ly,and seems to be an outlying portion of the great Eta Carina complex.

Exposures were 12 x 10 minutes shot through a ZS 110 with an SXV-H9C.

M83 (The Southern Pinwheel)

Hi again all

This is another shot I took last week under the skies of Coonabarabran which were cloudy and wet but all was not lost.

Exposure time was 9 x 15 minutes shot with the SXV-H9C through the ZS 110 guided with the ZS 66SD on an AP600E.

Capture align & combine in AA3 and all post processing done in CS2 and of cause a larger image can be found at my site for those who are interested.

I don't think that there is a more exciting galaxy to look at either visually or to image than a face on spiral and M83 a very large and bright one is no exception.
