Another Saturn from Hawaii - Feb 11

Posted By Freddy WILLEMS

Aloha

This is another Saturn image taken on February 11
with my Meade 14"LX200 UHTC, seeing was not great.
Meade 14" f/10 - 2x power mate used.
ToUcam 840
15 fps
IrUv Baader filter
I think the Saturn storm is a little bit visible.
Only processed in Registax, just want somebody to play with the image to bring out more detail and sharpening ?

Sorry for posting so many images at the time, just want to learn the right imaging and pocessing techniques, and we do not have that great seeing in Hawaii that many times....
I thank everybody who took the time looking at my posted images. Hope the next ones will be better !
Thanks for looking

Freddy

Auto guiding - LX 200 GPS

Posted By Freddy WILLEMS

Aloha
Maybe I'm not in the right forum.
Just want to know some information on autoguiding, with a piggy back scope, using a meade 14"LX200 GPS.
The Mount has all the hook ups, but I just want some, easy reading simple informatiom about a simple autoguiding setup with a Orion 80mm piggy back scope using a ToUcam 840 and the meade mount....
Do I need a laptop or software just for the autiguiding ?
Any websites or links I can go to ?

DMK camera setup

Posted By Freddy WILLEMS

Aloha
I'm still struggling with my decission for a DMK camera.
Just have two regular laptops. I guess with no fire wire port, but I guess that can be fixed to hook up a DMK camera.
Just want to know how many cables there are needed to run the DMK camera and laptop.
AT the moment I use a ToUcam 840 II and have long extencion cables going from the roof into my living room. (USB cable and Te LX200 control cable - the power and 9v cable are connected on the roofs power boxes.)
My question here is if there is a possibility with the DMK camera to use long extencion cables (like 20') and still have a good connection to capture images ?
Can some body email me some pictures of his laptop hook up (at the ports / power hookup of the camera and also a picture of the cables that goes into the camera.
Just want to know what is needed to start working with a DMK camera.
I really can't wait to get one...

Polar Align TITAN mount

Posted By Freddy WILLEMS

Just want to know how you do a precise polar alignment with the Titan.
Do you guys use a torpedo level to level the top of the mount when the weights shaft is down pointing streight down ?
I just want to have an exact polar alignment before I start getting into the PEC or so. My mount is on a portable pier and I will use it for astrophotography and want an exact aligment as possible.
Just want to know how you guys are doing this.
Is there a avi or picures aviable how to do it right ?
