Rename Binoviewer Group

Posted By Andrew Settimio

You have a poor attitude.

I'm learning and plan to contribute when I one day have
a binoviewer. Just don't want to spend $400 more then i need to.

Grow up and contribute something positive.

Surplus Shed EP feedback

Posted By Andrew Settimio

I have thier 2" 50mm, 38mm Efrle amd several others.
.The 50mm is ok but was disappointing when I first looked through it. The FOV seams narrow. There was no wide field Wow.The 38mm is not to bad,but has some weird eye relief/kidney beaning thing going on. There microscope E.P. and Hy. are not worth the $15. I don't use them much.

Asteroid!

First We try diplomicy. Maybe the asteriod is willing to budge from it's postion. France should obviously head such a commission. We should not rush into things. There needs to be more proof of its intent of "mass" distruction.

Dominique,

Coailition bombing can be repaired, The death and distruction of the soul, speicializations of Saddam are not. He broke his people to fear him. We will soon hear how Saddam held captive his population.

There will be innocent casualties, as in any event, war or no war, but the long term beneifit will be of this action
will be benefit to the Iraq people.

There is no other way, we will probably hear, "what took you so long". If we had done this in the aerly 90's, 100's of thousands of people would be alive today.

Delay was a comfort for Saddam, and a curse for his subjects. I can see many Iraq children living in hope for the benefit of all, instead of fear, for the single glorification of a demon made flesh.

"W" will make to world a better place in the long run, but the road is a long one.

I will also note the Failure of European Foriegn policy.
This generation of Americans, must fix the failure of past European policy. I can certainly understand your fear of confrontation.

Freedom of press?

Posted By Andrew Settimio

Dominique,

There is no real-time truth, just agendas full of partial truths and bias.

The actuall truth of events are only revealed well after the events. Weither embedded or not all have a bias. The
REAL truth will can only be deteremined well after the event.

This is true for any historic event, and by law that govern the nature of man, truth can only be determined in hindsite.

I doubt the non-embedded journalist were innocent of terms of conduct of war. It will be interesting to see what is written about this war by the books these embedded journalist will undoubtitly publish afterward. Then the real truth may be pieced together.

Celestron 9.25 vs 11 - planetary performace

Posted By Andrew Settimio

I have the nexstar11. First Views were awfull, took time to collimate it, and now the views are fantastic.

The Nexstar11 has actually given me my best view of Saturn and Jupiter so far. Saturn was sharp, several bands that darkened as they moved to the poles.

I have Blacknight Binoviewers and the views a espically awsome, However the most planetary detail I was able to distingish came form a 2" E.P. 36mm Barlowed with a 3x Barlow. I have found barlowing 2" Low Powered E.P. are giving my best views.

It's my first SCT SCT deliver more then I was lead to believe. I also have 7" MAk and a 8" Mak Newt.

Meanwhile, back in Fallouja

Posted By Andrew Settimio

Won't we ever learn

I also read about this group of freedom fighters that wanted a Their own government. This other group invaded/occupied their land, killed civilians, Tens of tens of thousands died in the roughly the same time we have been in Iraq. The President of this occupier was named Abe Lincoln. He divisive person and not very popular ( He didn't even win the popular vote when elected). He sent solders far away from there home to attack this land, things didn't go very well it ws not popular conflict. He needed a military victory to secure re-election against a former military leader who said he was mis-manging a unwinable war. Because of this, the town of Atlanta and half the coutry-side was destory and ruined.
I don't know if the town ever recovered. Even after a truce was signed some freedom fighter called the KKK, still fought on against the occupiers.

I'm also stunned to have found a old picture of one of America's presidents sitting with the second worst mass-murder in history. Evidently this president was arming and giving aid to this guy who then massacered his own people. He was warned about this guy by some of his aids and generals but because this dictator was helpful, he ignored them and gave him lots of arms and material. This president was name FDR, and the Dictatory he helped was Stalin. If we only had a free media then.

We really need better vision so we don't repeat the these mistakes.

Iraq exit strategy?

Posted By Andrew Settimio

Actually Tsunami Aid seems to be a naval military indevor.

Nobody in the world is more competent in fast entry into devestated areas and creating positive logistic operations then the US marines. They the most self-sufficient units in the world.

Iraq in mainly army.

Once again, this is sending a message to the region on who still actually is the superpower in the region. This will probably cool the political inertia that has been going in China's direction. India is watching very closely as well.

Chinese aid that has actually materialized has beeen minimal.
