Obama Comes Clean

That's certainly refreshing and a definitive change from the previous administration that would rarely, if ever, admit its own mistakes...

Nice try at polishing a turd Rod; deflect Obama's incompetence by commenting on Bush. Because Obama admits a mistake where hundreds of people came close to death doesn't make me feel any better about his ability to protect this nation with the incompetence both he, and those around him, exhibit (mostly those he has chosen as advisors and cabinet members). He certainly has a knack for picking "winners", I’ll give him that.

Haven't we gone through this before in the previous administration? You betcha!

Rod, please. Enough with the pre-emptive apologies for this administration. Yes we did go through this before but your accusations are factually in error as it was the Clinton administration that created "the wall". Bush tore it down. Looks like Obama is busy rebuilding it with his indictments on CIA agents and the like. They don't trust him, and rightfully so.

Napolitano: Terrorists Went To 'Great Lengths'...

"Napolitano's 'no drama' competence shows her potential"
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2009/12/31/AR2009123101535.html

"It came as no surprise to anyone who knows her that Napolitano handled the incident and its aftermath with aplomb."

"If there is anyone in the administration who embodies President Obama's preference for quiet competence with "no drama," it is Janet Napolitano."

"She was in San Francisco, far from her Washington office, and she must have had a sleepless night. But her eyes were bright, and her voice was calm." [speaking of the Sunday talk show rounds she made where she claimed "the system worked".]

"...her potential is almost unlimited."

I provided a link to the article but unless you're really in the mood to vomit on your keyboard I suggest you stick with the highlights I've included here. Time for me to clean off my computer.

Palin: The 2012 Option On The Table

So do you believe Palin would win if she runs or do you believe McCain's principle adviser who stated her run would be "catastrophic" for the GOP?

Catastrophic indeed. I continue to be perplexed by what her supporters see in her. I also continue to be perplexed by how the left and media continue to see her as a threat. But it's good, it keeps the left's eye off the ball and it exposes the media for what it really is. At this point in time I see myself voting Republican in 2012 at all costs... unless Palin is what I'm offered. My personal view is that Romney will come out ahead in the end, especially if the economy is still in the toilet then.

Obama Fights Back

I hope he gets the message out loud and clear to expose the GOP for what they really are...

I have a feeling Obama's new strategy of calling out the Republicans will work over time. I think folks are getting fed up with the stalemate in Washington. Hell, I don't support most of Obama's policies but I'm getting tired of the Republican games myself. I think they'll lose in the long-run if they don't find at least some common ground with Obama.

I doubt his show is done (remember which station he’s on) but he has certainly screamed, lied, and twisted himself into irrelevance. Even much of the far left is distancing themselves from him. The only people that pay attention to him are the folks just like him...lunatics. I must say though, I find myself, along with three or four other people in America, watching him on occasion. It's like rubber-necking at a train wreck. My motives are different though; his "regulars" are watching him to feed their voracious appetite for hatred of anything other than their world view...I watch him on occasion to remind myself just how perverted the media can get. Olbermann is nothing more than an actor in a freak show. Saying that, I did hear MSNBC has the Elephant Man standing by just in case.

Commanders On The Ground

http://www.latimes.com/la-fg-afghan-outpost6-2010feb06,0,297637.story

A Battalion Commander (0-5) gets a letter of reprimand and you call that "stink rising"? How about Gates, you want him reprimanded too? What about Obama, he's the CinC. How many scapegoats do you need before your thirst to teach the Army a lesson is satisfied Rod? If mistakes were made then lessons are learned, if negligence is involved then they should be subject to disciplinary action. But now the military has gone overboard with this crap. The public expects no causalities in war and so every death is the fault of someone in the chain of command. All this "political correctness" that has dramatically infiltrated the military over the last year is undermining discipline and morale. Commanders are hesitant to make tough decisions, young officers and NCOs are being taught tepidness, there's a general fear of becoming a scapegoat. And unfortunately Rod, that will kill far more soldiers in war than negligence. Unfortunately I see a trend starting, the same sort of trend I saw in the military under Carter then Clinton.

And I'd love to hear how you manipulate some form of the "truth" to some how connect Palin to this story. Back away from the MSNBC Rod. Your obsession with anything Palin is unbecoming.

Amazing Hypocrisy

Steve Thornton said:

Here are two more reasons why I'm a proud Democrat.

Self-righteous Sarah Palin calls for Rahm Emanuel to resign after he used the word 'Retarded' in a closed-door meeting. He apologized(which he should have) yet you have the ever predictable Rush Limbaugh saying, on the radio, to the public, there's nothing wrong with calling "Retards, Retards." What does Saint Sarah say? "People shouldn't be disrespectful." Of course she can't criticize Limbaugh because she needs him too much. And now, e-mails are coming out detailing how small-government Sarah tried to cover up the $3,200 cost of putting in electicity for her tanning bed while she was Governor and getting pissed off because she couldn't get the state to pay for her daughter's air fare. Totally amazing.

Then you have the Republicans' leader in the Senate, Mitch McConnell, criticizing our intelligence agencies, after they're coming up with current, actionable intelligence from Umar Farouk Abdulmutallub, the underwear bomber, using smart and lawfull interrogation techniques. We Mirandize him, bring him members of his family to convince him to talk and he starts singing like a bird. And what's McConnell say? He says Holder shoulder be taking on the case and then says Larry King could have gotten more from him.

Ah geez, where do I start? Because it doesn't fit into their torture first, ask questions later view of the world, and because they are loathe to give any credit to the Obama aministration, these unpatriotic sleazebags put politics first and demean the brave men and women on the front lines on the war on terror who spend every waking moment worrying about threats and doing their best to combat it. Better to play politics than actually say the system worked. Mitch, remember Richard Reid, the shoe bomber? We Mirandized him after he was taken off the plane and tried him in a civilian court. Convicted him. System worked.

No wonder we're in such a fix. The Republicans are doing nothing but saying no to everything to get a political advantage in the midterms. Sad.

"...these unpatriotic sleazebags put politics first and demean the brave men and women on the front lines on the war on terror who spend every waking moment worrying about threats and doing their best to combat it." Yeah really, they should act more like this patriot: http://www.astromart.com/forums/viewpost.asp?forum_post_id=701159&poll_id=&news_id=&page=

"Then you have the Republicans' leader in the Senate, Mitch McConnell, criticizing our intelligence agencies..."
Of course you would never hear criticism of our intelligence agencies from a Democrat would you? After all, the Dems were mum and respectful when it came to 9-11, water boarding, failures in Afghanistan, "connecting dots", CIA secret prisons, etc. I concur with the title of your thread, it's blatant in your post.

"Better to play politics..." That's a good point. So tell me, what is the benefit of coming out now and telling the world he is singing like a bird? It's politics that's why, because I can guarantee they aren't doing it to give terrorists a head start (well I actually can't be sure about that with this adminstration). How convenient he's talking now, and how bogus of the administration to come out and say he is. Do you not see how stupid their argument is? They are saying they can announce he's singing now because his information is stale anyway. It's stale because his lawyer told him to shut-up. What he's doing now is immaterial. How rediculous.

"No wonder we're in such a fix. The Republicans are doing nothing but saying no to everything to get a political advantage in the midterms. Sad" Actually what's sad is that I feel comfortable in saying you had a straight face when you wrote this post. I'll give you credit though; you had the gnads to fill it with hypocrisy, and titled it "Amazing Hypocrisy". Now that's sad.

Obama Tries Again

I'd sure can't wait to hear how they'll lower costs and stop the abuses on pre-existing conditions. Let's hear their plan and their proof they can...

"A second herculean effort by our president at reaching out to the Republicans."

Oddly enough Rod, I agree with you on this one. Obama's effort to reach out to Republicans was certainly herculean-like. I however, was reminded of Hercules in a different form, the one depicted as the sculpture "Mature Hercules" found in Herculean, Italy.

In all fairness I assume you're joking about this "effort" Obama has put forth? How much effort does it take to pass it all off to two bozos like Pelosi and Reid and watch them bumble their way through trying to pass a bill with a majority? Perhaps if Obama actually did anything at all when it came to healthcare reform you might have a bill. I saw Rep. Weiner (D) from NY on John Stewart the other night say he has no idea what Obama's position is on healthcare. This coming from the Democrat's "Mr. Healthcare Reform", the Dem most cited as the most knowledgeable about the subject in Congress. Leadership, or lack thereof, killed your healthcare reform, not Republicans.
