I am far from a Palin Apologist, but has there ever in the history of media been a time when the news has given the platform to a disgruntled teenage ex-boyfriend of a politicians daughter so he can spread his innuendo(on his press tour for his Playgirl spread no less).....and then called it news. There are plenty of things to pick on Palin for, this is just gross.

Indeed Tom, pretty pathetic (him and CBS). What I find interesting is that many are ragging on CBS for their journalistic integrity for providing "Levi the Playgirl" a forum. But if you watch MSNBC (which I did most of the night and this morning) they play the clip of him saying he's got the goods on her, him saying she called the baby retarded, etc., over and over again. And they do this under the guise of ragging CBS for journalistic integrity...now that's pathetic. And the left has the audacity to call Fox bias?

This morning I saw an MSNBC anchor interviewing a Republican senator about the healthcare issue. He said (paraphrasing)"the claims that this healthcare bill is deficit neutral are wrong". She (the anchor) responds with "so Senator, explain why you're calling President Obama a liar ". Obviously he had this stunned look on his face, a face that clearly had an expression of "where the hell did that come from you moron?" His response to this blatant attempt to corner him was appropriate and she had this look of the cat with the mouse tail sticking out of his mouth. That's journalism? Where is the outrage about MSNBC?
This petty crap we always get from the Obama administration bothers the hell out of me. I've never seen such a petty administration.

Those who read Playgirl will soon find out Levi is not hiding anything huge at all. grin

Rolling

On this glorious anniversary of the idiot being annoyed to the White House by his racist comrades, we are seeing that the people have apparently learned their lesson. Conservatives and Republicans are rolling over the lib machine powered by the Obama ... cough cough ... campaign. While libs thought that their extremist socialist leader and his insane policies would bring nirvana to this country, we have seen that the community organizer from the hood knows little more than the lessons he learned from his mentors and buddies, Wright and Aires. We have seen their devastation, and this opening folly for the mid term election looks to be a positive change for the country.

MSNBC is besides themselves. Spin has reached a new level of absurdity today. Rachel Maddow just looked plain ole stupid tonight; a shameless display of bias from the woman who two weeks ago ragged on Fox News while calling her own show "legitimate news". Wow.

Obamanomics marches on.

In the article, Christopher S. Rugaber, AP Economics Writer wrote:
"Nearly 16 million people can't find jobs even though the worst recession since the Great Depression has apparently ended." This man is an idiot, telling 16 million people there's no jobs for them but the recession is over? Not one month since Obama-Nobel took office has the private sector created a net increase in jobs but everything's hunky-dorey? "The net loss of jobs occurred across most industries, from manufacturing and construction to retail and financial." he writes. Man, what a recovery! "Economists say the unemployment rate could climb as high as 10.5 percent next year because employers remain reluctant to hire." Yep! The economy's rebounding at full steam. ""It's not a good report," said Dan Greenhaus, chief economic strategist for New York-based investment firm Miller Tabak & Co. "What we're seeing is a validation of the idea that a jobless recovery is perfectly on track."" Excuse me Mr Greenhaus, what dentist did you get your "toothless dentures" from? 8O "Counting those who have settled for part-time jobs or stopped looking for work, the unemployment rate would be 17.5 percent, the highest on records dating from 1994." Yep, it's pedal to the metal for our rebounding economy!

Pearl Harbor 2007

Posted By Mike Strieber

Rod Kaufman said:

Anybody watch "60 Minutes" this evening? It was reported, apparently for the first time, that the US suffered a major cyber attack by an unknown foreign power in 2007. Multiple defense system computers were hacked as well as others throughout various systems in our government. "Terabytes" of information were systematically conquered and taken as spoils of war. A deliberate act of domestic terrorism visited upon America by a foreign power. Why didn't you hear about it? The Bush administration suppressed it. As explained by government officials present at the time, when things aren't going to well at home, you don't divulge that kind of thing. So the next time someone exclaims there weren't any attacks on the continental US after 9/11 while Bush was in office, you can tell them horse pucky...

That's what you get out of this Rod? One last parting kick in the teeth for George Bush? Weak, especially to use it as a weapon to attack GWB. BTW, I'm assuming this attack took place in Hawaii since you titled the thread "Pearl Harbor"? Hawaii is not in the "continental" US as you so joyously claim. So not only is your assertion lame, your facts are wrong.

Four Options

Four ways to go on Afghanistan:

One appears to be a selective deployment, providing coverage for key cities, towns and villages.
I'd expect the others to range from a full escalation of troops to 40,000 or more, to a greater presence of NATO, or a phased removal of troops for departure from Afghanistan.

Hi Rod,
I doubt we'll see a withdrawal from Afghanistan; too much telegraphing coming out of the administration that we'll increase the troop level there. Although I think Obama's decision is overdue (they even said it was still weeks away) I applaud the commentary, if true, that suggests he'll announce a full strategy involving many more aspects than just troop numbers. While I initially supported him taking some time to make this decision, I believe he's had more than ample time to figure it out. What else could he possibly be waiting for? The good news is that while he takes his time to decide we've been killing bad guys like it's going out of style of late. We've been quietly giving them the business the last few weeks.

President Obowma

Posted By Mike Strieber

Fellas, isn't this a little silly? Sort of reminds me of what the right complains about when it comes to the petty attacks on Palin, which they certainly are. If Obama fails, it will be because of healthcare, the national debt, indecisiveness over Afghanistan, bail-outs, etc. Not because he bowed to some dude in Japan. Just curious, were you guys in an uproar when Bush was holding hands and kissing world leaders? If the current trend continues it appears the American people will not consider Obama worthy of re-election, but it won't be because of things like this. All this stuff seems a little Glenn Beck-ish to me. If you think Obama is goofy when it comes to these things then wait til you see Palin in office (which we can only hope we'll never see). Reminds me of the Twilight Zone movie..."want to see something really scary?".

Libs always have a narrative about their leaders that is designed to make themselves look intelligent.

Obama is a waffler, not a Spock. The character Spock is intelligent. Obama is an idiot. Spock is a deep thinker, Obama spent so much money and taken over industries for simple political advantage. Spock does what is right for the Federation 99% of the time, Obama is out for himself and the Dems 100% of the time. Spock only speaks the truth, Obama has not a clue what the truth is. Spock speaks intelligently all of the time, Obama cannot put 2 sylobals together that makes sense without a teleprompter. Spock has a long record of positive accomplishments, Obama has a year of experience destroying the country. Obama plays 3D chess, Obama plays basketball. Spock is straight, there are questions about Obama's sexual orientation. We know for sure where Spock was born, there have been questions about where Obama was actually born.

It is really hard to see how anyone who has a brain would see these two as comparable, except that they both have funny looking ears.

Ok Jim, I don't disagree with everything you said but...I have to ask. Straight up please, yes or no...

Do you believe Obama was not born in the US and is therefore not qualified to be the President of the US?
Do you believe Obama is gay? And if he is, in your view, does that disqualify him to be the President of the US?

Remember, yes or no answers please. Not what you "heard" or "read".
Thanks in advance for your candor.

This is not the Global Warming Forum!

Jack Day said:

Please, Let's keep this forum on topic.

There is an entire forum dedicated to the discussion of Global Warming.

Perhaps if more of us would follow the lead of the Boy Scouts of America we would all benefit:

The BSA Outdoor Code

As an American, I will do my best to -

BE CLEAN IN MY OUTDOOR MANNERS.
I will treat the outdoors as a heritage.
I will take care of it for myself and others.
I will keep my trash and garbage out of lakes, steams, fields, woods, and roadways.

BE CAREFUL WITH FIRE
I will prevent wildfire.
I will build my fires only where they are appropriate.
When I have finished using a fire,
I will make sure it is cold out.
I will leave a clean fire ring, or
remove all evidence of my fire.

BE CONSIDERATE IN THE OUTDOORS.
I will treat public and private property with respect.
I will use low-impact methods of hiking and camping.

BE CONSERVATION-MINDED.
I will learn how to practice good conservation of soil, water, forests, minerals, grasslands, wildlife, and energy.
I will urge others to do the same.

Boy Scouts rubbing two sticks together led to global warming. Not a good example Jack.
