REAL New information

Posted By Tom Rodstrom
Herb, was the site with two z's in the name one with offensive links?

I'm not a real fan of this administration and the site had some books which I was interested in. Now that the war is started, I support our troops and hope that it ends well and soon.

Not too much contrast. Have you considered a refractor. I've seen ad's with better pictures from a 700mm F11 refractor.

Freedom of the Press - Food for thought

Some people will consider me an anti-Semite. That is not the case at all. I am very PRO AMERICAN. When I feel that America's best interests are not Israel's best interests, I will chose America's interests first EVERY TIME.

I can't speak for th U.N, France, Russia or Germany, but if I could, I'd say:

Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me.

CNN- Complicit in Iraqi torture?

Posted By Tom Rodstrom
I really don't understand, Ed. I read the story and it seemed that they had a gun to their head so to speak. I haven't been able to watch CNN (or Fox for that matter) because I have been working very long hours and don't have cable at work.

I don't think that anyone believes that SH was anything more than a murderous thug. He gassed thousands of Kurdish civilians if nothing else. Did I miss some very biased reporting on CNN? If you think so, I'd like some examples since I missed it.

Piano wire spider

Posted By Tom Rodstrom
The design I had in mind was two wires on the top and two wires on the bottom, perpendicular to the ones in the top. I also envisioned using a very good vibration damping material in the outer mounting platforms to reduce vibration and tension requirements.

I don’t know the theory behind diffraction spikes, but according to my calculations a 1" high strip tilted 1 degree will present a 0.035" obstruction. My calculations are always suspect since Excel uses radians and I often do not convert properly. The only reason I would use a wire spider is if the height of a thin metal spider contributes to the diffraction spike.

Allah's vengence against America?

Posted By Tom Rodstrom
Yes, if you blow a hold in the clouds for the worthy ADMINISTRATOR you will be rewarded with 1000 virgins, and an honored place in the line for an AP Refractor, and you shall know the meaning of Eternity.
