Is there no fresh blood that is not a socialist to be found in the Democratic party?
This is gonna matter in 2028. Will the DNC line up behind AOC or Newsome, or can they somehow convince a possible winner like Shapiro to run? If the D candidate is Newsome (or AOC, heaven forbid), all my liberal friends better get used to saying "President Vance" through January 2037!
I haven't read up on the guy too much, but I'm always highly suspicious of a hit list like the one Rich posted at the beginning of this thread. Most of that stuff sounds like overblown hyperbole to me. For example, "an Israel-hating avowed socialist" sounds like a typical case of Rich spewing his usual, unjustified attacks.
What I have read suggests that he won the primary with a largely grassroots effort, and without any help from the Democratic Party establishment, considering they opposed him. I think anyone who claims to value democracy in action should be fine with his victory. It's up to the General election to see if he actually wins, and then he has to govern effectively with the city government. So, alarmists like Rich need to calm the f-down IMHO.
