Every time I hear this hyperbole about millions of illegals let into the US, I go looking for the data that would back up these claims, and I never can find any from a trustworthy or reliable source. If you look at this data, the first thing that you will realize is that the illegal immigration population has remained remarkably flat since 2005. Trump didn't decrease the number of people, but it didn't increase, and the same is true for previous administrations. The estimate has not varied much from 10-12 million since 2005. It started to increase in 1990 to its current level in an almost entirely linear fashion, which occurred under the Democratic and Republican administrations.
My point is that there doesn't seem to be any reliable data that would support the claim that "Democrats have allowed millions of illegal immigrants into our country!" Additionally, almost all of those illegal immigrants are in CA and TX. They are not running rampant all over the country. So, I would suggest that unvaccinated Republicans are more of a COVID risk than illegal immigrants.
I know the GOP loves to use illegal immigration as a whipping post against Democrats and like to claim they allow it and favor it to swell their voting ranks, but honestly, the claim doesn't seem to have much actual veracity.
James, it defies common sense to say Biden did not cause a large increase at the border. All we had to do was turn on the tv and watch it happen! True we don't have exact numbers. I saw that 170,000 were intercepted so I thought my estimate of 120,000 getting by our patrol last month was a conservative estimate. And a million a year also seems on the conservative side. I still have not recovered from anybody saying the Dem party does not want illegal immigration! Biden is purposely increasing the flow over the border. It is painfully obvious! And we should not be so overcome with politics that we pretend there is not a huge problem of COVID ACROSS THE BORDER!
Dumping millions of unskilled people into our economy is also terrible. It contributes to the difficulties people on the lower rung are going through. Why do Dems deny this is not fair to our people in that income level? Where are these people going to be working ten years from now?
Now they are claiming 1.2 million were caught at the border.
I also know people that are aware of the drugs consumed around here. They biggest cause of 18-45 deaths here is fentanyl they claim. I have not verified the number but would not be surprised at all. This has increased since the border has increased. Call it a coincidence if you wish.
Citing record numbers of apprehensions of illegal aliens by the government as proof that the government is promoting illegal immigration doesn't make much sense. Sounds more like the government has gotten very good at catching them (in fact, they have).
Claiming that large numbers of potential immigrants amassed on the other side of the border proves that the government is promoting illegal immigration doesn't make any sense, either. Sounds more like they're on the other side of the border because they can't get across.
