I still contend it's common in the vernacular, though
It certainly is common. It is common in the vernacular of anti-semitic bigots. Do you also regularly use the phrase
From the river to the Sea, Palestine will be free as well
?
Now I must say I found this Bizarre statement of yours to just expose your utter IGNORANCE about Israel.
given that half or more of Israel is Arab
Umm.... WHAT?? Ahh.... WHAT?? So 51% are Arabs according to You??
Half or MORE of Isreal is Arab? Where do you get this nonsense, directly from Lawrence O'Donnell or Al Sharpton over at MSNBC?
Here's a clue for you Mr. Anti-semite. Maybe 20% of the Israel would be classified ethnically as Arab, but the vast majority are Semitic Jews, Ashkenazi, Sephardic, etc...
And MANY Of that 20% or so, are living in Gaza, the West Bank, and the Golan Heights.
Why don't you go learn something about the History of the Nation, when it was formed and quit getting your stupidity that you regurgitate from the Anti-semites you watch on MSNBC like Joy Reid,
Good grief you truly are a nonsensical buffoon.
Regardless of the actual percentage, and I did overstate it, my point stands. There are a significant number of Israelis, Jews, and Arabs who would not take issue with the term. Are they anti-Semites?
Additionally, Gaza is referred to as having been occupied by Eqypt from 1949 to 1979, when it was co-administered by the Egyptian military and the precursors to the Palestinian authority. Is saying that anti-Egyptian?
Further, even if someone is critical of Israeli policies, that does not inherently make them anti-Semitic. For example, plenty of Jewish Israelis protested against the Netanyahu government's actions in Gaza just in the past year. Are you going to tell us that they are anti-Semitic? You can't seem to understand that criticism of Israel does not equate to anti-Semitism. And by the way, I was in no way being critical of Israel. There are no reasonable solutions for Gaza. Your ridiculous and baseless attacks are precisely why many people avoid entirely talking about Israel and its policies at all. You can't say anything without some numbskull baselessly accusing you of being anti-Semitic.
