Wish list for the next debate......

A wish list for the next debate......

I wish when Obama and company assault the arithmetic of the Romney-Ryan tax cuts and observe that closing the loopholes won't cover the loss, Romney would respond as follows:

"Mr. President, you have 23,000,000 people out of work, drawing unemployment and food stamps and paying no taxes. If they, or a good portion of them were employed, we'd cut spending on their unemployment and food stamps, and reap the benefits of the taxes. You need to include that in your math."

I wish when Obama talked about creating jobs, Romney would respond:

"Mr. President, I came from a business background, I understand how to put people to work. Have you ever hired someone, anyone, and paid them out of your pocket?"

I wish when Obama assails Romney's investments and retirement fund, Romney would say:

"Mr. President, my retirement comes from the private sector and I earned it there. It places no burden on the public. Do you have any retirement that's not public funded? I'll voluntarily give back all my public provided benefits if you'll do the same."

When President Obama says he would like to pursue an assault weapons ban to curb gun violence.....

Romney should respond that a good place to start would be to ban the ATF/Justice Department from supplying assault weapons to Mexican drug gangs that are then used to kill U.S. border agents.

Obviously this last one is just to make a point since Ryan and Biden are done......

I wish when the moderator says, "Mr. Ryan, your turn", Paul Ryan would respond with:

"Let Joe have my time, he's even better at making himself look like a buffoon than I could ever be".

Y'all have any "I wishes"??? smile

Yeah....That Obama realizes that words do have consequences..and that his one term will end as he predicted it would.

3 a.m. Reflections

Not sure if this necessarily belongs in the Religion Forum.

Earlier this week I woke up during the night at a little after 3:00 a.m.; didn't feel like laying in bed, so I got up and sat in the living room with a night light on.

Was "reflecting" on my life and came to the realization that 'there was not one single individual, that I could think of, in the entire world, that I felt any animosity toward.' smile

Animosity can and does play a big part in how our world view is formed and governed. People who have no faith in a higher being can and do feel animosity.....however the spirit filled person should allow his feelings to be controlled by the spirit. I'm glad you feel no ill will toward your fellow man. 8)

Who kidnapped Romney?

Hey, who was that guy debating Obama tonight? I know it looked like Mit, but it didn't sound like him. Geez, anyone who agrees that much with Obama should vote for him. There is only one explanation, someone kidnapped the Mitster.

I'm assuming you assume that you can't on occasion agree with some of your opponents moves? Are you that naive? Romney completely disagreed with Obama on his foreign policy..on his handling of Iran and Israel...and definitely on all of Obama's domestic policy. No...Mitt was the same guy...the presidential guy.

Fox News Online

Been spending a lot of time on Fox News online and have added it to my favorite bar. I do think they need to get rid of the Fair and Balanced logo because they are not. Like many network news centers they are biased - obviously toward Republicans. Nothing wrong with that as much of the others are biased toward Democrats. If you want to find out what Obama or Democrats or liberals are doing wrong - go to Fox. There's a cornucopia of articles(I'm not talking about the Opinion section). Over the last few weeks I have been taking the You Decide polls. They seem to have a pattern. They include the conservative answer, a moderate answer and a more liberal answer. The results are often heavily skewed to the party line - 70% or more indicating that this site is heavily visited by conservatives - as expected.

However, they have articles that don't usually appear on other sites (liberal-leaning) so I will continue perusing it.

Fox is my main stay..but I do jump to CNN and msnbc for the liberal slant.

Why Liberals Think What They Do

Posted By Rob Wiederrich

Dave Snope said:

Prof. Victor Davis Hansen nails down the primary types of elite liberal psychology. He discusses "equality of result", "them", "exemption", "naivete", "anger, envy, and the primordial emotions", and "nihilism".

For example, "naivete":
In the elite liberal mind, there is instead a sort of progressive Big Rock Candy Mountain. Gasoline comes right out of the ground through the nozzle into the car. Redwood 2x4s sprout from the ground like trees. Apples fall like hail from the sky; stainless steel refrigerator doors are mined inches from the surface. Tap water comes from some enormous cistern that traps rain water. Finished granite counter tops materialize on the show room floor. Why, then, would we need Neanderthal things like federal gas and oil leases, icky dams and canals, yucky power plants, and gross chain saws — and especially those who would dare make and use them?

"envy":
So do not discount the envy of the sophisticated elite. The unread coal plant manager, the crass car dealer, or the clueless mind who farms 1000 acres of almonds should not make more than the sociology professor, the kindergarten teacher, the writer, the artist, or the foundation officer. What sort of system would allow the dense and easily fooled to become better compensated (and all for what — for superfluous jet skis and snowmobiles?) than the anguished musician or tortured-soul artist, who gives so much to us and receives so much less in return? What a sick country — when someone who brings chain saws into the Sierra would make more than a UC Berkeley professor who would stop them.

In Summary:

In short, twenty-first century elite liberalism has become a psychological condition, not a serious blueprint on how to solve real problems. The president knows that — and so without ideas has been reduced to name-calling and sermons on Big Bird.

Good post Dave.

If we had not set aside our foundational principals in 08, Obama would NEVER have been elected by the extreme left and a whole bunch of *Mindless followers*.

This time around Obama has(through his incompitance) awakened the sleeping giant of American exceptionalism, lovers of Liberty and truth. The sting of truth will leave Obama wanting and looking for another job. wink

As it should be......criticism..full court press. Yeah and why did he run off to Vegas without a comment to the public during the Libyan debacle? Could it be the wrong people(Muslims) were getting the blame...and here..Obama can blame the weather? Easy call.

An excellent and well thought out analysis of Poll

This is a very good, and technical, read.

In interest of disclosure, I've been involved with analytics and modeling (performance, system throughput and response time, analytic queuing-based modeling, multivariate analytics, etc.) for over 20+ years

Models are only as good as your data quality, and the assumptions underlying them... As we say in computer system capacity planning, it's all about your "capture ratio"

net, net: most of the polls, and especially any that are using assumptions from 2008, are highly suspect...

http://baseballcrank.com/archives2/2012/10/post.php

Morris would say...they are WRONG. You don't use assumptions from how many woman married a man to conclude he was wonderful, cuz he married often...you make assessments based upon how many he beat and abused, while married to him. You poll the *X-Wives*.

Long Term Unemployment Rate Rises

Posted By Rob Wiederrich

Dave Snope said:

Another black mark for the worst jobs president in American history.

The long-term unemployment rate rose to 40.6 percent in October, up from September’s level of 40.1 percent of the total unemployed, according to a report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics Friday.

Long-term unemployment is unemployment lasting for 27 consecutive weeks or longer, according to BLS.

The government reported that just over 5 million people were unemployed for more than six months – 27 weeks – rising from September’s level of 4.8 million.

Long-term unemployment has remained elevated since the end of the recession in 2009. In January 2009, when President Obama took office, there were 2.7 million long-term unemployed Americans. By August of that year – after the recession had ended in June – that number had crossed the 5 million mark.

And that idiot is doting at his rallies that the slight increase in jobs for September means we are on our way to a strong recovery. What a load he is serving to his base.
