It's Time To Hit Iran

I mean it's time to stop being polite.
The delays in the program, reportedly initiated by the Mossad, are no longer effective:

Iran had made its intentions quite clear:

If the Russians are going to put their 300 series anti-aircraft missiles around the Iranian nuke silos, let's not wait and lose some good pilots, hit them now...

Obama has no time for such issues Rod. His time is clearly consumed waging a battle with a radio talk show host. :S Oh, the humanity; how much change can we possibly take?

Why...

Why would anyone read this forum if they don't enjoy it? Why would anyone admit publicly that they read a forum they don't enjoy? Seems odd when you could be doing something else that you enjoy more.

I enjoy this forum a lot. I like the various personalities. I like watching the interplay between extreme viewpoints, centrist viewpoints and the occasional whack-job. I learn things here. I used to like participating in a vigorous on-line fight, but I don't do that so much anymore. Sometimes on Fridays.

My actual political view point has been changed on certain important issues by thoughtful posts here.

I even have come to think of many participants as "friends." I miss them when they leave the forum. Odd isn't it?

I would suggest that if one considers the Astromart politics forum unenjoyable or a waste of time, they use the "hide forum" button. It is pretty easy to do.

Jim

I agree with you Jim. I find it interesting also. Sometimes I do like to take a break from it but I come back. I've never been fond of sarcasm, personal attacks, etc., but people are who they are. I find myself doing it sometimes myself and I usually regret it later. However, as was evident when JB came up ill the true core of this forum comes out on ocassion. It can get nasty sometimes but I believe everyone recognizes, when appropriate, there's a real human being behind the posts. I've learned a lot here over the years. Things like....I should buy a gun before Obama takes that right away, Bush planned 9-11, Cheney is the anti-Christ, our soldiers rape children in Iraq under orders, and other fine tidbits like that. wink Seriously, I have learned a lot here, both facts and about people.

The GOP Comic Book

The leading "contender" at this time: "Flip Romney"...

Yeah Rod, the Republican Party is in a bit of disarray, that's for sure. But what will make them relevant again will be the Democratic Party. Talk about comic books; take a look at these examples of Obama foreign policy in action:
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/worldnews/article-1159627/To-special-friend-Gordon-25-DVDs-Obama-gives-Brown-set-classic-movies-Lets-hope-likes-Wizard-Oz.html

UK's Prime Minister, Gordon Brown gives Obama an ornamental pen holder made from the timbers of the Victorian anti-slave ship HMS Gannet. Wow, that's incredibly thoughtful. In return Obama sends a staffer to Sam's Club and picks up a set of 25 DVDs of classic movies as a gift for Brown. No doubt even of the wrong region. Of course you're not hearing about this buffoon-like gesture in the mainstream media. How many times did we see Bush trying to open that door in China?

How about this gem from our Secretary of State?
http://www.washingtontimes.com/weblogs/kralev-diplomacy/2009/Mar/06/clinton-gives-lavrov-reset-button-with-wrong-russi/
Clinton provides a “thoughtful” gift to the Russian Foreign Minister in the form of a cheap looking "reset" button (similar to the Staples "Easy" button, symbolizing a reset in our relations). Written on this plastic piece of crap was the word "reset" in English and in what someone obviously believed to be the equivalent in Russian. Wrong. It was actually the Russian word for "overcharge". If you've seen the video of this event (which you won't in the MSM) you would see how embarrassing a moment it was, especially for Clinton. Quality linguists we have in the State Department I'd say. There's probably one less now also.

I find it ironic you make this post today referencing Republicans and comic books when last night I was thinking the same thing about Democrats. Like I said, what will make Republicans relevant again will be the Democrats with foreign policy gaffes like these, ungodly spending and deficits, taxes, Pelosi as the leader of the Democratic Party, etc. The Republicans are hard at work looking goofy, Democrats are hard at work making folks long for the good ole’ days. wink

Oh BTW Rod, of the top 10 "earmarkers" in the Senate with this current budget submittal, six are Republicans. A perfect example of how you take one step forward and two, or three back. :S

This bill contained almost 8,000 earmarks. What happened to his campaign pledge to go through this budget "line-by-line"

Obama promised to slash earmarks to no greater than 1994 levels. That promise is still on the White House website.

The "change" he bamboozled so many with starts when he says it starts; no sooner. I wish him well but folks need to keep him in perspective. It’s shattering to those who bow to him but it’s becoming clear to most…he's just another politician.

The FBI, Terrorism and Politically Correct

While the FBI appears to be doing its best to stop recruitment of potential terrorists in Minnesota(what the heck are terrorist recruiters doing in my native state of Minnesota anyway?):

The FBI also appears to be eluding a congressional inquiry of the reported ties of CAIR to the Hamas:

I would have thought the FBI would be right up their Hamasses
What's up with these guys, anyway?

Rod,
You couldn't possibly be so naive to not know Minnesota has long been a bastion of terrorism. wink Besides, there are times when the FBI appears to have their head up their own Hamasses.

Obama's poll numbers worse than Bush's?

Posted By Mike Strieber

david elosser said:

"Polling data show that Mr. Obama's approval rating is dropping and is below where George W. Bush was in an analogous period in 2001."

"A detailed examination of presidential popularity after 50 days on the job similarly demonstrates a substantial drop in presidential approval relative to other elected presidents in the 20th and 21st centuries. The reason for this decline most likely has to do with doubts about the administration's policies and their impact on peoples' lives."

I'm certainly not the biggest Obama supporter in the world but how about we make Bush's approval numbers of a couple months ago a little more of a distant memory before we start over-analyzing Obama's? wink
