WORST MOVIES

Posted By Doug Peterson

I like to look at imdb.com's Bottom 100; these include the stinkers that have withstood the test of time--not just Paris Hilton's entire filmography.

I hereby vote for the classic Manos the Hands of Fate. Words simply cannot describe it. I am sure it is studied in film school, how not to make a movie, literally everything is appallingly stench-o-riffic. The only thing it has going for it is it is so bad its good--it makes Plan 9 look like Citizen Kane.

WORST MOVIES

Well I think I just saw the second worst movie of all time (after Manos), the TWONKY. The story is a classic but the movie is simply an irritating exercise in endurance. The music is like nails on a blackboard (not like Pyscho tho), the supporting actor actually has rotten looking teeth that you can't keep your eyes off, the special effects (a walking TV set) are inane. The acting is either over the top or completely deadpan. Omigod!

Articulate analysis from you, for a close-minded rant, I am sure you put at lot of work and hate into it. I am so glad that you have taken the time to descend from your ivory tower to insult us mere amateur astronomers. By the way, if you're so important why do you need to lower yourself to insult us harmless hobbyists; are you not taken seriously by your peers?

Perhaps you should spend your time refuting Lindzen, a real scientist, who yesterday pointed out with actual data why modelers are wasting their time, the feedbacks are wrong, which explains why the models don't match real data, that the globe has not warmed up in the last decade.

How embarassing, I cannot think of anything less scientific than believing in a model that doesn't work. Think how cool you would be if you fixed this problem:

Passing off another's words as your own is very uncool. Is your academic work this sloppy?

Fascinating read. It is incredible that this academic fraud goes on and no one looses their jobs. If these alarmist guys are right, why do they need to lie to us?

Global temperature anomaly +0.00° C

Posted By Doug Peterson

According to this statistical analysis for averages up to 15 years, the trend is cooling, and that over 30 years the increase is 0.4 degree C per century, that is one tenth the UN computer model projections.

decade temp trend flat

Here's one that might answer the first half of your question

http://wattsupwiththat.com/2009/05/19/comparing-the-four-global-temperature-data-sets/#more-7943

There are several cooling scenario theories, but here is discussion of one:

http://www.nytimes.com/2009/09/23/science/earth/23cool.html?_r=1

I am just as skeptical of the cooling scenarios as the superheated ones. I think we just don't know enough yet, and it ain't over til its over, and the data's in. Someday it may become a science, but not today.

Another AGW Scientist Disgraced

Posted By Doug Peterson

And of course the big question, if these "scientists" are so convinced of a crisis why do they behave in this unseemly manner, rather than let the real data speak for itself?
