OK if David is going to show off his new scope I'll show mine. It's 100% complete just yet but you get the idea.

Changing the Illuminator battery?

Posted By Bill Webster

Guys I have a 12mm guiding eyepiece with a wireless illuminator. I assume the battery is dead but I can not figure out how to change the battery. The eyepiece is by Appolo and the illuminator is marked star sky. I can unscrew the illuminator from the eyepiece but I do not know how to open it to change the battery.

Any ideas?
Thanks,
Bill W.

Dew heaters for Binoculars?

Posted By Bill Webster

Does anyone make dew heaters for astro boincoulars? Everytime I take my 20x80 Oberwerks out they dew over in a few minutes. I carry a mini hair dier with me but a dew zapper would be easier.

thanks

video

Has any one been able to capture and display real time video from a PST or other Coronado telescope? I would like to display real time pictures of the sun on a TV or other monitor. Has anyone ever done this?

Thanks

Run away dec and ra

Posted By Bill Webster

Has any one ever had a run away dec and ra at the same time? This is on a 8" LX200. I have searched the MAPUG. Just checking to see if anyone here has heard of this problem.

thanks

My first guess is your scope needs to be recollimated. When was the last time you collimated your scope?

A "flipper" is someone who buyes used astro equipment just to resell it at a higher price. Or an old TV show about a big fish.

HELP !

Posted By Bill Webster

First off RELAX!
Are you talking about a focused star that has a streak coming out of one side? Or are you talking about a streak on the corrector?
If it's a star - try to defocus it and see if the center obstruction is off to one side. If that's the case you need to collminate you scope. It's easy once you know how.
