I'm in the market to upgrade my Ultima barlow and was wondering about the qualities of the Takahashi 2x Barlow.
Has anyone ever done any comparisons with the Takahashi and other top quality barlows?

Celestron Axiom LX 23mm opinions

I'm looking for a widefield for an 18" f/4.2 dob.
The Nagler 22 is out of my budget .
I've been considering the 22 Pan, but thought the extra FOV of the Axiom 23mm would be nice. (The 24 pan is kind of pushing it for exit pupil for me at 5.7mm and the Axiom 23 gives a greater TFOV)

Has anyone used the 23mm Axiom much or dome some comparisons with it?

Astrosystems vs Protostar spider/mirror holders

I'm looking at spider/mirror holder systems for my 18" dob (around a
20" inside diameter cage) I'm constructing.
Astrosystems claims to make assemblies for most all the premium dob
makers, but Protostar charges more than a 40% premium over their
competition.
Has anyone had experience with both such that they can compare them
for me?

Shipping Damage. Who is responsible ?

You make a deal with someone on Astromart, send payment, and receive the item damaged and unusable. The item requires replacement parts to function.
Seller says the item was in good condition when shipped.
Who is responsible for the costs to fix it?
Buyer, Seller, or split 50/50?

On Cloudy Nights I posted a thread asking about Dave B's proposed book detailing and compiling mirror tests. It was quickly locked, and I received a terse and cryptic note that he was not to be discussed. A personal message from someone said something about him getting in trouble for a review. Anyone have the scoop? I was just interested in his mirror test book. If this subject is off limits, inappropriate, or hurtful....I'm cool. I don't want to cause a problem.
