I have a 14" TScope and it is an outstanding scope and a great buy for the money. Ed builds a quality product.

FS 78 and CG5

Thanks everyone for the informative replies. I can use the Vixen dovetail with that Tak afterall. Just need to drill and tap the treads and I will be set. This is a great forum.

What to sell, What to Keep?

Posted By Mike LeHere

Thanks everyone for the responses. I think the consenses and probably the best move is to sell the FS102. When this scope was purchased, it was compared with four other new FS102s and had the absolute best star tests of the bunch. Maybe that's why it's hard to part with. However, we must move on. I'll probably be posting this scope on Astromart within the next week or so. Thanks again for all the help.

Mount for 127ED

Posted By Mike LeHere

Donnie:

I think I may have indicated to you in an earlier post that I used a Vixen GP-DX with the Meade 127ED. With a payload capability of 22# it handled the 127ED acceptably for visual purposes. The GP-DX can probably be had for less than a $1000 used. I paid $1500 for mine but it also included SS2K goto system.

My newly aquired SM 14.5" Hybrid

Floyd:

Don't you have another Starmaster? For some reason I thought you had an 11" or a 12.5 Starmaster. If so, do you plan to hold on to it or is this new scope its replacement?

Meade 102ED-vs-Orion 100ED

Posted By Mike LeHere

James:

I feel the Meade 102ED would be, in my opinion, the better quality scope. I had a Meade 127ED and it was a wonderful scope and essentially colorfree. The Meade 102ED would have been made in America as opposed to China. Quality of materials and workmanship should be superior.
