Kitty's Book.......

Posted By Thomas Wos
Amazon's #1 seller, "The Family : The Real Story of the Bush Dynasty", by Kitty Kelly, makes some outrageous statements about Georgie's and Laura's behavior in college.

Does she need sustantiation for her allegations?

Nope.

And Georgie himself set that precedent, with Iraq's WMD fabrications!

Dedicated Jupiter Refractor?

Posted By Thomas Wos
Any suggestions for a dedicated Jupiter refractor, longer focal length for larger image scale, and aperture under 4" for portability?

New or used made in the last 10 years or so....

Thanks

Tom

Let me start by stating that I don't "believe" in a personal God. Yet I do have tremendous "faith" in the seemingly "natural laws" of the universe. Is that atheism?

A Metaphysical Speculation

Posted By Thomas Wos
Paul,
I posted this before, but here is is again as adding possibly to your speculation. Considering the unbelievably dynamic nature of humans, I personally think that we are evolving, have evolved, and will evolve, extradimensionally as you imply. I also think that man's full potential is far from being realized.

"We are therefore not appearing for the first time when we come upon this planet, but have pursued a long, an immeasurable course of activity and intelligent perception on other systems of globes, some of which were destroyed ages before the solar system condensed. This immense reach of the evolutionary system means, then, that this planet on which we now are is the result of the activity and the evolution of some other one that died long ago, leaving its energy to be used in the bringing into existence of the earth, and that the inhabitants of the latter in their turn came from some older world to proceed here with the destined work in matter." (written in 1893, G. dePurucker)

Weapons of Mass Deception?

Posted By Thomas Wos
James,
Do you think that the terrorist acts you fear may be committed by individuals or organizations that have absoluely no just cause whatsoever, and are mindless, soul-less, weapons of mass destruction? Why are we in America the most threatened by Saddam, when multitudes of nations are, (were), within his reach. Surely such a powerful threat to worldwide peace would not have fallen so easily.
My point is, is that the "terrorists" rationalize their actions similar to the way we do, although obviously vastly different in point of view. I believe the U.S. needs to picture itself accountable to some degree, and until understanding replaces fear, terrorism will only increase.

what a tragedy

John,

I could'nt agree with you more.

I think it's equally tragic when the humans on the wrong end of our war die. Their lives are priceless as well.

As far as I know, NPR is not funded by tax dollars.
Correct me if I'm wrong.
