Floyd,

What I am about to say is not scientific, but based on my opinion. I went through the first 27 posts (not including any of yours, but including posts from the same individual). 18 complemented your test, 5 seemed to be thought provoking, 2 were off topic, and 2 were negative.

I appreciated what you did, and so did the vast majority of folks. Even those who posted what I considered negative made valid points. I guess where I am going with this is with a 72% approval rating, 8% disapproval, and 20% undecided, you have numbers any good politician would love!

Keep up the reviews.

What did I find?

Posted By Michael Fitzgerald

Thanks guys. The picture for M33 and NGC 604 looks to be about right distance for what I saw. (ftp.seds.org). I could only make out the core of M33 and did not realize how big it really was. It looked like two distinct bodies to me.

Televue NP127is or Takahashi TOA-130?

Posted By Michael Fitzgerald

Televue NP127. I have an NP101 that I really like. I tend to be more about whatever is easier, and my main reason for picking the Televue is lighter tube, smaller mount, easier to carry in and out.

But that is just my preference smile

Just picked up a nice older refractor

That is what one person suggested based on the history. I have no proof of that. The lens is probably off the bottom of a gallon jug of apple cider for all I know. I will say they don't make apple cider jugs like that anymore!

Bobby,

Any first light reports yet? That is a fine looking scope!

"Shipping to CONUS only" Annoying (classifieds)

Posted By Michael Fitzgerald

I recently took a chance and shipped some binoculars to a gentleman in Hong Kong. He had no problem paying the few more dollars for my extra costs. He was very patient when I delayed shipping because of a family illness. I was impressed that he trusted me (although he must have been a little nervous!). Payment was through Paypal. I usually don't use Paypal but did in this case. He let me know when he got the binos and that they got their safely.

For my first attempt at an overseas shipment it went well.
