Choosing to be a responsible adult

Posted By John Wemesfelder

One of the contributors? to this forum seems to have a recurrent need to post tidbits of innuendo and partial truths, and factual untruths.
Few other posters seem to have this need, but instead, attempt to involve a civil dialog.

ALTERNATIVELY, you might have seen a post titled "McCain a Misogynist"--Based on the new book by Cliff Schecter, regarding Gramps' comments re: Cindy McCain during the 1992 Senate campaign.

OR "McCain Hates Veterans"--Based on Gramps' voting record against S2020 'Funding for Veterans' and against HR2863 'Health Care for Veterans.

MORE are available, but most of us choose to be responsible adults.

But of course, contribute it to the campaign of the presidential candidate who best represents my personal interests and the best interests of the people of the United States of America. No, there is no conflict here, just judgement.

Me Too!

This is the first public announcement of the fact that I gave up my enjoyment of parcheesi, in honor of the hard work that the current administration has been performing, in defense of the Bill of Rights. The American public should not have to see me playing parcheesi, while the Bill of Rights is eroded.

( Don't understand it? Just move on.)

Isn't that Wonderful?

George Bush has just shown that even he, given eight years to practice, can learn to read from a teleprompter and project a modicum of sincerity. The lame duck has spoken----who will follow?

It's almost 10:00 AM on the East Coast, and the "decider" has made an appearance. As a result of his cogent remarks, we know that he is awake, and dressed.

That's all for now......

A Question regarding the Hypothetical

Posted By John Wemesfelder

If we may, let us assume that a Federal statute has been passed by Congress, and confirmed by the Supremes, which states that: " Any human fetus/fertilized egg is a human being, with all of the rights and responsibilities of a full-term human."

I would like to hear concrete proposals as to how one would enforce such a law. Fluff proposals are not of any value...Would we require that all female humans capable of ovulation submit to mandatory pregnancy testing on a monthly basis? Are the names and social security numbers of sexual partners entered into the record for purposes of responsibility? Will all OB/GYNs be required to undergo law enforcement training?

I could ask more questions, but I'm sure that you get the idea.

Enjoy yourselves,
John W

And another thought......

The Honorable Senator Kyl of Arizona was the prime mover in the effort to get a pipeline from the North side of the Grand Canyon (where there is no water to be piped) to the South side of the Grand Canyon. The purpose: To alleviate the water shortage being experienced by Northern Arizona.

An early experiment in internet community

Posted By John Wemesfelder

For those who are interested enough, I'm posting the URL for an interview that occurred a number of years ago, and some may find an opportunity for consideration.

http://www.finewoodworking.com/pages/w00138.asp

If I have mistranscribed the URL, one may search for " an interview with Wayne Miller of Badger Pond" (it is not a large file)

There is much room for introspection as relates to the way Mr. Miller moderated his forum for civility, and the fora here at Amart. This is NOT a criticism of Amart or its' owner and should not be considered as criticism.

The omnipresent necessity is that all participants remain aware that Amart as an intellectual property, is the possession of Herb York, and he has the right to set the rules.

Bottom Line: Don't like the Rules? Don't Play.

Clear, Dark, and Steady,
John W
