Actually anyone who pays attention already knew this. Who are the wealthiest American's and what is their political affiliation? Gates, Buffett, Kerrey, and the Kennedy's - all donkeys. The Dem party is made up of the masters and the slaves. The rich masters keep the poor in financial bondage with their neo-socialist agenda to gain and keep power.
You can really trust this study from the Heritage Foundation. They wouldn't even consider "picking" thier political intelligence to push an agenda, would they?

Heritage Foundation

Heritage's stated mission is to "formulate and promote conservative public policies based on the principles of free enterprise, limited government, individual freedom, traditional American values, and a strong national defense.

Corporate support

Heritage has received support from nearly 100 major corporations, including Chase Manhattan Bank, Dow Chemical Company, Ford Motor Company, General Motors, GlaxoSmithKline, Mobil, and Procter & Gamble.

Foreign support and relations

Heritage's 1995 annual report acknowledges a $400,000 grant from the Korean conglomerate Samsung. Another donor, the Korea Foundation, which receives money from the South Korean government, has given Heritage almost $1 million

According to scientists, "Forget about the threat that mankind poses to the Earth: our activities may be shortening the life of the universe too." Scientists are saying this, so it must be true.

I guess humans as a race must be exterminated before it is too late. Astronomers are the culprits we are the evil ones who dare look outward.
It is clear that the difference between theory and fact are a mystery to you, much less quantum physics and the Heisenberg uncertainty principle.

"Turns out, environmentally friendly buildings are often bird killers.

Ornithologist Daniel Klem, a professor at Muhlenberg College in Pennsylvania who has studied the problem for decades, said between 100 million and 1 billion birds die in the United States each year in collisions with glass.

Buildings that earn LEED certifications, the brass ring of environmentally sustainable construction, are often largely glass. Klem said few architects take their feathered friends into account. They are an unintended consequence of light-filled structures."

These environmentalists need to be prosecuted for the damage that they are doing to the environment. Where is PETA in all of this? Are the environmentalist throwing blood on those who created these buildings? Where is the justice? SAVE THE BIRDS! wink
Unlike your STUPORHERO, Geroge Bush, the environmentalists will learn from their mistakes and make changes. They will not "stay the course" until there are no birds left. grin

Re: Natural disasters have quadrupled in two decad

After Katrina, some on the left blamed the President for causing the natural disaster. A new study shows that natural disasters have quadrupled in two decades.

http://www.breitbart.com/article.php?id=071125143308.tk2ewf60&show_article=1

How could both be true? Was mother nature predicting that President Bush would be in the White House at the time? Does this mean that those who made the statements at the time are anti-science, since the science has proven them wrong?

Certainly ALL levels of government should have responded more effectively after Katrina. However the constant Bush bashing of the left has once been proven to be based on hate, not science.
There is no argument that government at all levels did a poor job responding to Katrina. There is also no argument that the "leadership" from Bush was pathetic.

Another issue which Bush blew is his stance on global warming. For years he denied its existence.

Floods and wind-storms have increased from 60 events in 1980 to 240 last year, with flooding itself up six-fold.
But the number of geothermal events, such as earthquakes and volcanic eruptions, has barely changed.

GIVE ME A BREAK! If there is any regime which only cares for power it's the Bush, Chaney, Rove gang. They have proven it over and over. There are NO dirty tricks which they wouldn't use. Then they illegally destroy evidence to cover up their crimes.

Canadian border fence?

Posted By Tom Rodstrom

Do we need a new fence to keep Canadian politicians out?

It appears that the Canadian government spread lies in order to effect an American election.

Just call me Judas

Posted By Tom Rodstrom

I'm not loyal to Hillary, so I must be Judas. Change is really needed and it can start with getting rid of political advisors like James Carville (and the candidates who hire them).

Hillary Rodham Bush

Posted By Tom Rodstrom

It looks like Hillary has learned from Bush. If you don't like the rules, ignore them.

"For the second time in three days, Sen. Hillary Clinton told reporters
that the pledged delegates awarded based on vote totals in their state are
not bound to abide by election results."

"'I think what Mrs. Clinton was trying to make clear was that no delegate
is required by party rules to vote for the candidate for which they're
   pledged,' said Ickes."

"'And also remember that pledged delegates in most states are not pledged,'
she said Monday. 'You know there is no requirement that anybody vote for anybody.
   They're just like superdelegates.'"

If pledged delegates ignored the votes in their states, that would be the end of the Democratic party, give McCain the election and make it very difficult for a female candidate to win for decades.

"Clinton advisers have cited the altered rule, which dates to 1982 and says only
that pledged delegates 'shall in all good conscience reflect the sentiments of those
   who elected them.'"

How can a pledge delegate "in all good conscience" ignore the vote in their state?

HELP - Petzval refractor alignment

Posted By Tom Rodstrom

Years ago I bought a refractor for $70 from a surplus store. As it turns out I got quite a deal. It is a Petzval APO design with a very large flat spot. The original focal plane had a 3x5 inch ground glass target. I was told that it might have been part of a boresight tool for a 16 inch naval cannon.

I cut down the end of the tube and installed a 2" focuser. I was very new at the hobby, but on one clear day I saw beautiful festoons on Jupiter. Sadly, I disassembled it to clean the lenses and did not mark lens positions. Now it has a rainbow fringe indicating it is out of alignment.

I need to know how to align this instrument. I do have a 5" 1/20 wave flat and can make most any tool I need. The objective is an air spaced doublet with about 1/2 inch between elements. The corrector has two elements spaced a 2 - 3 inches apart. The outer lens of this corrector is extreme. It has a 1 3/8 inch sagita. The focuser tube actually sits inside the lens when it is racked in. The spacers are metal rings and the lenses fit in machined ridges so it appears that the only alignment I can do is to rotate lenses and/or spacers. The lens pairs are each mounted in their own removable frame with spacers and threaded retaining rings.

Can anyone help me with instructions on how to align this OTA?

Thanks
Tom
