This Week's MAGA Media Madness...

Posted By Greg Shaffer

I passed my business on to my son a couple years ago outside of helping him negotiate a few contracts I am rarely involved anymore. That lasted about not quite a year before I couldnt stand it anymore so I started doing some handyman type stuff, small remodeling jobs, then the idea for building outdoor kitchens struck and it took not quite a year to turn that into a full time job again lol

It was a little slow through the winter but since the weather started warming up my partner and I have not had time to wind our watches smile The good news is it is fun and satisfying work and keeps me out of the bars lol

Thanks Brian.....we have one coming up that will have a serving bar down both sides instead of the hinged covers. As well as a 2 piece unit where they face each other with one being nothing but counter and serving bar on one side and all the appliances on the other. That would be more my personal speed smile

I buy lumber pretty much weekly and prices have NOT dropped significantly in months.....certainly not anything like 40%, maybe 10%.....that said we may see a further drop in the next few weeks. Lumber futures have recently dropped significantly though and by over 40%......It will take a while for that to be reflected at check out though. Rising transportation costs (fuel) will certainly remain reflected in the price tag. We arent likely to get anywhere near pre-covid prices for quite some time, maybe years if ever.

I didnt read the article as just the title told me it was just more Pablum Rod loves to lap up, could be that the futures drop is what led them to print such misleading title......and its the AJC at that which those of us in the ATL area widely refer to as the "Mullet Wrapper" since that is what it is good for lol

On the price drop: "We’re excited to see it, but it won’t translate to a price decrease or consequences on the prices for probably a couple of months,” said Gray.
"Paul Gray is a builder in the Wichita area. He claims that for every client concerned about lumber prices, eight more give him the green light to frame-up.
“It hasn’t turned away enough people to make a difference,” said Baalmann.
In fact, Gray has had record sales in the last few months."

And just how is that supposed to contradict what I said Rod? You are an idiot.....lol

You don't need to be a rocket scientist to figure that one out, Greg..,.

What I actually said "that said we may see a further drop in the next few weeks."

How you equate that to me saying "a while" boggles the mind. The next few weeks seems fairly accurate compared to a "couple months" to the rational mind. It is you however and you are looking to justify your psychosis so I get it lol

In general prices regardless of what the commodity is dont fall to or below what they were previously....That is a by product of inflation as much as anything else. So yes I stand firm on them being unlikely to return to pre-covid levels on lumber and pretty much everything else, of course there are exceptions for sure depending on the product.

From your statement:
"It will take a while for that to be reflected at check out though".

As far as future trends on prices are concerned, I'm going with bank's forecast, not yours....

So it is your contention that when I said "a few weeks" didnt clarify "a while" for you? Like I said, your psychosis drives you lol

Straight reporting can be difficult.

Well, it is the HILL so there is that.....they usually color their reporting with partisanship. More fodder for Rod's psychosis and of course per Rod the sky is falling smile

My exact post.... "that said we may see a further drop in the next few weeks. Lumber futures have recently dropped significantly though and by over 40%......It will take a while for that to be reflected at check out though."

My use of "while" was referencing back to my prior sentence which said "a few weeks"..... Neither has anything to do with a later mention that we might never see pre-covid prices again....

Grasp at straws much to justify your obvious and apparently purposeful confusion? smile

Either way, I'm going with the forecast of a reputable bank on lumber prices particularly when it comes to any additional home improvements I might be contemplating.

LOL....it was a copy and paste from the original post you idiot.....seriously? Trying to make hay out of the fact I didnt say "a while" when referring to it? But I am grasping at straws and splitting hairs? Ok.....with that we are done here, this is like arguing with a 6 yr old.....

A little advice.... if you cannot handle critical and/or rational assessment of the divisive anecdotal bullshit you post without it triggering your depression and anxiety, don't post bullshit lol. I am the least of your concerns. The rest of social media is savage AF and you ain't built for this.
