Vegas massacre

Ok, now I can say assault rifle without Richard pitching a fit. So, let me get this straight. It's legal to own a semi automatic weapon, it's legal to sell whatever it was he did to modify them into automatic weapons, but it's illegal to use such a weapon? And congress is now looking to deregulate silencers? Brilliant. I guess this is making America great again? Winning? Yeah-I'm really getting tired of all this winning.

The bump stocks will soon be illegal. Most shooters thought they were a cheap gimmick and probably not able to shoot that many rounds. The suppressors need slow bullet speed to be effective. Most bullets are above the speed of sound and make that large cracking noise. Everything he fired that day would still be loud, even with the so called silencer.

Sen Roy Moore

Get used to the sound of that. I don't think Doug Jones could get elected even if he changed his name to Bear Bryant. OK, maybe then.

Make your predictions here.

Yesterday's Fox poll showed Moore was down ten points. Some Moore supporters will not say they are voting for Moore. More than ten percent? Are Moore supporters motivated or embarrassed?

I'll make a guess. The average Alabaman would have voted for Moore but they are so disgusted hearing and reading about this and the bad light it has put them in that they will wash their hands of all of this and stay home. A better turnout for the Dems gives Moore a loss.

If voters dislike Jones as much as voters disliked Hillary then Moore wins. I dislike Hillary more!

And I have watched Democrats say the opposite. Lower taxes will not help this economy!

Steve Bannon and Me

...sounds like a Michael Moore film. Richard and the rest of you Trumptards, how does it feel that Steve Bannon and I are completely aligned with my long-standing belief about Trump and money laundering...let alone Russian BS????

""You realize where this is going ... This is all about money laundering. Mueller chose (senior prosecutor Andrew) Weissmann first and he is a money-laundering guy," Bannon reportedly said. "Their path to f***ing Trump goes right through Paul Manafort, Don Jr., and Jared Kushner ... It's as plain as a hair on your face."

""The three senior guys in the campaign thought it was a good idea to meet with a foreign government inside Trump Tower in the conference room on the 25th floor -- with no lawyers. They didn't have any lawyers," Bannon continued, according to the Guardian. "Even if you thought that this was not treasonous, or unpatriotic, or bad s***, and I happen to think it's all of that, you should have called the FBI immediately.""

If they thought the meeting bordered on criminality would they be more likely to have lawyers there? Some Trumpers think this weakens Bannon and helps Trump. Maybe there will be no more Moores. Legislatively Bannon certainly wasn't helping Trump. Can anybody suggest how a money laundering scheme could have worked?

Deputies Waited Outside

Something is up because normally 4 out of 4 cops would not hear kids being killed and not go in there. They are usually a cut above most of us in that regard.

Trade War

Russ Carroll said:

All of the bluster from Trump about a trade war is finally here. Next week, tariffs on imported steel and aluminum are to be enacted by executive order. This is bad, but what makes it far worse is "it is only the beginning" of the isolationist acts that Trump has promised and promoted his entire life.

I dumped all of my industrial stocks this morning as a result. and have taken some defensive measures in our portfolio.

Here is the biggest problem to me: Trump really believes this stuff, and I will give him credit for that. I think he really believes this will help working-class people in the US by producing jobs. It is one of the only philosophical stands he has been consistent about, and for a very long time.

I think his heart is in the right place, but he is very wrong about it and leading us to real trouble on a number of fronts.

Most likely he won't do it. How often does he follow through?

There is some confusion because she said it twice at different locations with different wording.

Is most of the politics history gone? Each thread shows only a couple replies? Maybe I'm not doing it right. The old forum was  more user friendly.
