Paul Wolfowitz should watch this, since he just stated that only 500 US troops have
been killed so far. How disrespectful of our troops is that? BTW, 98% of Sinclair's
donations were to the republican party, no surprise there. But to abuse power and the
public trust this way is shameful.

GWB's reaction is typical of how clueless he is regarding the ramifications of all
the various aspects of his war. This is a public relations nightmare and will only
increase the resolve of those who we are fighting against. And why wouldn't it? This
confirms all their worst fears about america.

The question is, will they turn on one of their own in order to make the problem
go away? Maybe if they thought it would work. Bush has already said it won't happen
though. Of course he says lots of things that end up only being words, so who knows..

Well, of course that is a simple test of character. It's bad enough that GWB failed it miserably, but worse that the voters fell for the dirty trick and let him get away with it. That he would hamstring a member of his own party that way speaks volumes.

It's my belief that Rumsfeld will go down in history as the worst Sec. of Defense since Robert McNamara. Many of us have been able to see this without waiting for the historical context. Others will likely maintain party loyalties until enough damage has been done to make it obvious even to them. The biggest losers aren't in the realm of politics though, but are the troops themselves.

IMO this bunch in Washington treat the military with the same abstract contempt they treat the american people. Yet they still manage to con enough voterss into believing they are competent. PT Barnum would have been proud of this bunch.
