Coronado (Meade) PST

Posted By Rex Cox

I wouldn't think that Highpoint would sell a PST that they hadn't either thoroughly checked out or fixed, or without letting the buyer know that there was a problem prior to the sale. Your scope is probably fine, but you might ask Highpoint for your own peace of mind. You might also try contacting Meade for help. A serial number from the telescope could probably reveal a lot. Altough your scope is used, it may be a newer one without the rust problem.

Finally got stung

Well after almost 8 years look like a fellow Astromarter decided not to honor a deal. It has been almost two weeks and no item. Fortunately it was under $40. Seems a shame that someone would sell their integrity for such a small amount.

Not sure what to do about the rating. His ratings showed okay - Did notice that he had received more ratings than he have - Have never given a bad rating but just not sure what to do with this one.

Thanks for any advice

Give it some time. There is no telling what legitimate reason might be the cause of the delay. Have you tried to contact the seller?

The Bubble Nebula

I just happened to be looking at some of Roland's photos he has posted on the web and came across one I had never seen before of the Bubble Nebula...

That photo just reinforces my belief that Roland runs A-P just so he can have the toys/equipment he needs to take the shots he wants to take...

An enviable position to be in. It's certainly a beautiful picture. Now, if only I had my own aircraft company...

How did this guy get his hands on fighter planes in order to sell them to the Iranians?

Older military aircraft like the F-5 and T-38 are available as warbirds, a lot of which are flown on the airshow circuit. I know of an F-4, owned by the Collings Foundation, that flies on the airshow circuit, and until a few years ago, a couple of F-104's also, until they contracted out to do work for NASA. When the Navy retired all of their F-14's a few years ago, they supposedly made it illegal to sell them for non-military use by anyone, but specifically to keep them and spare parts out of the hands of the Iranians, who also fly F-14's purchased prior to the fall of the Shah.

Got my TEC 140 Field Flattener, WOW!

I purchased a TEC 140 Field Flattener recently and it just arrived. My, what a piece of optical work this is! Compared to my AP .8 Reducer, this thing is huge. The glass is as large as the telescope objective, no wonder it cost $600, it is like another 140mm objective. Very cool really, nicely made and I really like how the extensions and adapters mount to it. Looking forward to giving this a try on some galaxies this year. grin

I can't wait to see more of your pictures with that rig Floyd. You inspire me. smile
