Trump Teens Harass Native American/Vietnam Vet

Sort of like how those on the right immediately impugn any protestors on the left as snowflake cry-babies or violent ANTIFA members?

What we really all want to know though is, when is Trump going to invite the Covington Catholic High School boys to the White House for some Big-Macs?

There is more context in the thread and more examples of boys from Covington misbehaving. As I said, I'm neither a foe or detractor, but I don't buy Nick Sandmann's carefully and professionally crafted PR piece either. Let me be clear though; no one should be sending death threats to anyone or threatening violence against anyone else. Unless of course, it's Richard threatening to beat someone up on this forum which is completely in-bounds.

See this story as well. By the way, the reporting of this story is widespread and by a lot of news outlets, not just CNN; including one of Richard's favorites, the Daily-CaCa.

Twitter suspends account that helped ignite controversy over viral encounter

This should make us all take pause before taking part in the outrage is the point.

It is one thing to falsely attack grown adults in order to promote your political agenda, it is another to attack teens to do the same.

Just despicable.

LOL! You are such a blind moron. It is hilarious how you can only see every subject through the lens of loyal right-wing fanaticism. Do you seriously think that the right-wing attack machine is not capable of despicable behavior too? What about what they did and still do to Chelsea Clinton? What about what they did to the Parkland school shooting survivors like David Hogg and Emma Gonzalez? What about the villainization of Trayvon Martin? There are countless examples where the right has used perfectly innocent people as a political cudgel. If anyone is to blame for the whole affair, it's the adults and parents who think that somehow it's proper to take teenage boys to a politically charged rally dressed up in political insignia that would never be acceptable in a typical school setting like a so-called field trip.

The Myth of American Greatness

Posted By James Lacey

David,

It is true that enduring myths about America hold more sway over the general American public attitude about our greatness than facts. However, I don't think this is necessarily a problem that is unique to the USA. All countries have their national myths, and while they often suffer from a disconnect from reality, usually they do affirm some set of national values. American exceptionalism, for example, confirms that the United States is exceptional concerning its ideas of freedoms and liberty and reward for personal merit. I think that this sentiment is mostly true; however, it's also true that the United States committed genocides in cleansing lands of native Americans and even the New England colonies participated in slavery. These are hardly actions that are consonant with sentiments like all men are created equal and that the pursuit of life liberty and happiness is a fundamental human right. The story of European colonialism wiping out indigenous populations is not unique to the United States though. Even Canada has its sordid past in this regard. So, while American Greatness is probably a myth, it also has many elements that are true as well. Like many things, every generation has to reclaim greatness again; it's not something you win once, and then you are done.

How Long Can the Dems Run With This?

The Mueller report makes it crystal clear that Russia attacked our 2016 election to help Trump, and Trump and his campaign welcomed that help. These facts as established by the Mueller report is not media spin, it's not gossip, and it's not a hoax. It is the reason the investigation started and saying otherwise, or that it was a political witch-hunt is quite frankly just dishonest. The only reason the investigation started was because of Russia and the actions of Trump, his campaign and those around him. Then what made matters worse, was all of the lies, and attempted obstruction once the investigation did start. For crying out loud, Trump asked McGahn to fire the special counsel and then write a memo saying that Trump never asked him to do it. In the report Mueller's conclusion was this incident alone satisfies all the elements of obstruction. There are no less than twelve such incidents detailed. The only reason Trump's indictment for obstruction is not a reality is that he's a sitting President and many of his aides had the good sense to not follow through with his requests. I will grant you this though; the Mueller report did exonerate someone; it exonerated the media. It looks like most of their reporting about the White House's chaos and dysfunction and Trump's actions that cause all of this were entirely accurate. And now Trump is demanding political retribution and investigating the investigators. The man is awful, and America deserves far better than a President who acts and behaves like an overgrown childish bully and a banana republic despot.

Every credible news source on Earth: Bill Barr lied under oath, and obstructed justice, and must resign.

Your "facts" as usual are wrong. The Mueller letter has been released. It does not mention the media at all and makes it clear that Mueller is upset with Barr's actions, not anything the media did.

I admit my reply to Richard was mostly snark, but it's hard to be any other way with someone who is so clearly only interested in willfully ignoring and denying that there is any wrong-doing on the part of the President.

I believe that compared to Bill Clinton and Loretta Lynch's "tarmac meeting," there is more than enough evidence in Vol. 2 of the Mueller report to keep Congressional oversight busy for a long time to come.
