Wall Street Journal on Jan 6 hearings

A smart guy follows the advice of lawyers.
And I would get as many pardons and do-overs as I could.

I listened to most of it. I was in school and my instructor never saw my earphone. I also had Nixon Derangement Syndrome. It is goofy but I hated Tricky Dick. And about a third of the class supported Nixon.
There was not much media but it always led the 3 networks. Every day. It seems like every 3 or 4 days the was something "big" turning up that put the screws tighter.
Most of the big revelations were from the WAPOST (Woodward or Bernstein). A scrap of paper with a phone number, a person coming forward with info on a payment made to somebody. drip, drip, drip.

Maybe. Most reporters covered up for presidents. Didn't want to damage access. Or damage a politician's career. especially one they liked. This event was largely the cause of the adversarial press.

The politicians could stretch it out.

Biden has stated his war on fossil fuels. HE GOES NOT WANT CHEAP GAS. We heard him loud and clear the first TIMES!

If only you would have paid that much attention to what Trump said and did before, during, and after 1/6.

Like I've said, I'm no Biden fan-boy, but the amount of control all of you think he has over gas prices is pretty astounding.
Some will continue to insist Biden has busted his butt to give us cheap fuel. But we have record high, instead! Not only is his "effort" a huge fail it is laughable! And the mean tweets did not cost me $40 a week.

Would you believe an army attempted to overthrow the US on the 6th?
No?
Would you believe people with goofy hats and one was armed with one of those cheap revolvers that could hold small  shotgun shells tried?
Yes.

Luttig outlined in his statement how close he believed democracy came to the brink.

Here is Judge Luttig's statement to the January 6 committee where Luttig provided a sharp condemnation of former President Donald Trump's attempts to overturn the 2020 election, saying Trump and his allies "instigated" a war on democracy "so that he could cling to power."

This where Rich, Mel, and Greg come in to argue he's nothing but an f'ing RINO, is secretly a democrat, has TDS, and is a complete and utter fool.
It is clear it does not matter what a life time of common sense says. All that matters is what this collection of people at this hearing say! I don't care what this man Luttig says. And it sure as Hell does not matter what any of them call themselves! I should be more impressed because of the word they add to their name?
I can only feel bad that so many buy into this, "We came that close to losing our democracy that day."   Maybe people are not considering how large our government is. TRUMP WAS GOING TO DECLARE THE ELECTION VOID AND GIVE HIMSELF ANOTHER TERM, OR TWO??!!
What is wrong with people? I'll say this goofy way of being involved politically would not have happened before the internet. Now almost anything can gather enough momentum to seem real and likely. The internet is amplifying what politicians are able to do.

I think they will be in court for a long time. What's a good guess, two or three years? Longer?
I have seen some lawyers say a criminal conviction is not a slam dunk. How much of this is exaggeration. We have our favorite sources but non-lawyers can try to keep up with the developments but it is a for sure fact nearly impossible. And having a personal stake in seeing our least liked politicians fall on their faces makes it even more difficult.
