Very good article...

Well, I thought so anyway. Noonan gives her slant on the election, Obama, Palin, and the Tea Party. Probably leans a little to the conservative side but she does have some strong words for Palin and the Tea Party as well.

Obama's India trip...

Posted By Mike Strieber

Oh my god, is the spin out of control on this one? $200,000 million a day! Beck said yesterday the trip will cost $3 billion! 3000-4000 people going! 100-something planes. Someone on Fox yesterday said the "Taj Mahal" was rented out by Obama and his guests! Gee I wonder if that's anywhere near the "Hotel Taj" where he's actually staying? I also heard he was renting the great Egyptian pyramids for a toga party and the great wall of China so the 3000 folks can play handball. 34 warships including an aircraft carrier are going to protect him! (already debunked by the US Navy btw). Bomb-proof tunnels being built so he can visit a museum!

I'm packing my bags right now because I heard on Fox last night that even I was going!! Yeehaw!

Eating away at the very fabric of the nation...

That's right, illegal barbering. This has got to be addressed immediately, it is destroying us from within. After all, it's well established that illegal barbering is a gateway crime. Next thing you know they'll be jaywalking! "Unleash the Kraken!"

Are they serious? Cuffing these barbers in raids? Guns drawn? In front of customers (including children)? It would make a great SNL skit if it wasn't so rediculous in real life.

I knew it!!

http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalpunch/2010/11/odd-little-moment-at-the-ceo-meeting.html

There was an odd little moment with Spice Jet founder Bhupendra Kansagra when President Obama spoke to CEOs Saturday in Mumbai.

MR. KANSAGRA: Thank you. Welcome, Mr. President, to India. As a fellow Kenyan, I’m very proud to see that you have made --

THE PRESIDENT: Made something of myself. (Laughter.)

MR. KANSAGRA: -- India as the focus of your drive for exports out of the U.S.

Obviously the president is not a Kenyan. One supposes Mr. Kansagra meant "of Kenyan ancestry" or something.

Now he's a Dem plant I guess...

Posted By Mike Strieber

Alvin Greene is seriously thinking about running for president in 2012...as a Republican. I don't know why he would change party as on November 2nd nearly 400,000 Democrats thought he would be a good senator.

I especially like it when he says he may run on the "Colbert" model. He's a Dem alright.

...there's no doubt voter fraud is going on at Dancing with the Stars. I've seen better dancers than Palin on The Gong Show.

Opt Out Day

Posted By Mike Strieber

How many of you anti-groping types chose to opt out today? If you did, it appears you would have been pretty much alone. The national "stick a pencil in my own eye day" appears to be a flop. Americans get it (eh, sorry for those following the other thread); national security, airline safety, and grandma's turkey are worth the odds of enjoying a grope-fest at the airport. Good for them. And good for TSA leadership standing up to the vocal few. In fact by most accounts the flying public today is praising and thanking the TSA agents as they are getting their junk photographed.

It will be fun to watch the "don't touch my junk" pundits like Hannity spin this in to some milestone moment in American history with unprecedented numbers revolting against an intrusive government. Actually I quit watching him so it won't be fun.

"We have not in our lifetimes seen a president in this position. He spent his first year losing the center, which elected him, and his second losing his base, which is supposed to provide his troops. There isn't much left to lose!"

Even the usual suspects, Olbermann, Maddow, and Matthews, have turned on him. Maddow has been at a 50' hover the last couple days. Noonan, I believe, describes the situation pretty well.

9-11 Bill

Posted By Mike Strieber

Enough with parading crying fire-fighters in front of the cameras please. Enough of the "un-American" accusations if you dare question anything about this bill. Enough Joe Scarborough with your phony alligator tears and the "what are you doing to our poor heroes" BS. Enough Chuck Schumer with your equating these "first responders" to Jesus and saviors. Enough with playing on the emotions of people, with your "our heroes deserve this for Christmas".

I don't have a problem in general with compensating the first responders on 9-11 and I understand their post-9-11 issues. But come on, you can't even articulate what the bill will do. First it was 9 billion, then it was 7.6 billion, now its 6.2 billion, and Schumer said this morning he's willing to go lower to get the votes. What is this? Some sort of drug deal? If you can live with less than 6 billion why did you ask for over 9 billion to start with? You don't even know what you want (other than to look good supporting "our heroes"). But someone that questions anything about the bill, the process (which is what I object to), or question how it is to be paid for, is all of sudden committing treason against "our heroes"?

How about we start parading crying soldiers with missing limbs in front of the TV cameras in an effort to increase the defense budget? Is that ok Chuck? Aren't these guys "heroes" as well? I would argue they are far greater heroes, and in no way would I disparage what 9-11 first responders did. Compensating 9-11 first responders is not about Christmas, and it's not about crying fire-fighters on pararde. Do they deserve compensation? Perhaps. Do I deserve the theater? No. Does anyone deserve to be criticized if they ask how their taxes are being spent just because a bill mentions 9-11 in it? No.

So what is it Schumer? 9 billion? 6 billion? What's it for? Who deserves it, who doesn't? Why? These simple answers will get you unanimous support without all the tears, parades, and charges of treason. BTW, where's your bill to compensate the OKC bombing first responders, the Katrina first responders, the SF earthquake first responders, the fire-fighters entering burning buildings everyday in this country, the fire-fighter that climbed the tree to get the cat? They are no less heroes than the 9-11 first responders. Where does it stop Chuck? In NY I suppose; in other words within reach of your voting bloc.
