A Well Regulated Militia.....

They always gloss over those first four words of the 2nd amendment.

I say they should regulate that all guns be kept in a verified secure gun safe unless when in use for sport or recreational activities.

They should regulate that all guns must be registered, the owner should take a required course on the safety of firearms before purchase, in other words be licenced, and a through federal background check be completed before anyone can buy a firearm. Require that owners must take out liability insurance for their firearms.

Make it illegal for anyone under the age of 21 to buy or possess any firearm.

Those are not infringements, they are safety regulations.

Those new proposals do make things more difficult for good people. The other people don't care at all.

Does well regulated mean in good working order? The founding fathers realized they were leaving out all of these rules and regulations but it had been a long day and time to go home!

Burger didn't say the three often repeated anti gun remarks while on the court. He made them at different times. Most of it comes from an essay in PARADE magazine.
He said the 2nd does not guarantee every citizen an unfettered right to any kind of weapon they desire.
He said that state armies would be maintained for defense of the state.
He told PBS another time the gun lobby's interpretation of the 2nd was a bunch of fraud.
He said the militia part was taken care of by the National Guard. But the Guard owns and maintains the weapons. They can't be the arms protected from federal interference by the 2nd.
His essay also gave Americans the right to defend their homes. Gun prohibition groups don't agree.

"Mockery?" I asked a fair question. Why be a jerk?

This is a reason you are difficult to exchange with. T here is a LOT written  on this. The phrase was common and remained common for a hundred years. It is a fair debate. It takes too long to spoon feed you when your first response is just that somebody is just making stuff up to mock what you write.

Well sure, but constitutional rights matter. Not the best starting spot,  Mr. Cicilline.

Wow, there are some people that think they can beat our army? Well then, as fast as possible, hell right damn now the Dems have to make it illegal to manufacture or sell these weapons!!! Thank God the Dems are here! I also want to thank Rod for making us aware of this. This, like the 6th, is something that could destroy the very essence of our democracy!

And we all know if a politician said it,
it is going to happen!
I can't even remember the last time a politician said BS.
They could not get elected if they were not truthful.

But wait! The man says you can buy them with longer barrels! And that ain't all, you can put better sights on them! So don't let anybody tell you these are not weapons of war!

It is true the 5.56 is more of a hunting round that wounds people. The other hunting rounds are larger and more powerful that would kill people instead of wounding them.
