Luckily I came across with a very rar big Zeiss refractor eyepiece,. a Huygens F= 100 with a fieldstop of 135 mm clear aperture.

This is a very rar large format camera with filters, guiding eyepiece etc. and was used in 150 mm and larger zeiss Refractors. I sold it now and before I remove the image from my computer , I safe it here on the group

a US customer bought from me a old pair of NIKON Binoculars Modell II, many years old and used. Before we shipped it , it was perfectly collimated and we did a hgood packing job, however it seems it arrived misscollimated. Deutsche Optik is willing to fix it, but asking about $ 400, which i think is very very expensive. Does anybody here know a less expensive source in USA who could help ? Of course we could do it in germany, but that 2 way shipping will also be to expensive

Hi Guys,

beeing back from the Winterstarparty I have a few questions.
Due the great reviews on the Denkmaier unit I liked to check them out at WSP with reason maybe to start selling them in Germany as a bino priced between Baader and BW Optik, where the Denkmaier offers also the aperture between.
2 Dealers at WSP have had the Denkmaier unit and I got it for loan to check it out. I was told this are brandnew units , but In found problems which shall not excist after reading all this reviews.

Here what I found and I like some feedback of owners If I have had only faulty units in my hands or if that represents the real production quality.

1, the prisms showed the edge badly polished, partly looking like extremly rough worked, as I have seen before only in cheapest chinese stuff
2, the prisms have been perfectly clean but showed a bit like fogged against the total clean BW Optik Modell

I wrote reports that the DENKMAIER shall have a higher transmission, but what I saw was a superb clean crystalclear BW Optik unit and dimmer Denkmaier unit.

The dealer there took one my ´BW Optik unit and sold them all, nobody wanted the Denkmaier when they saw the big diffrant in brightness, contrast and quality of the BW Optik.

This mail is not a insulting of Denkmaier stuff, its a simple question if the dealers at WSP showed faulty stuff or if that shall be really the units about everybody reports only good things.

This morning I have had the chance to talk with the old Masteroptician in Eastgermany who producing the BW optik Binoviewers and my questions he answered as follow

1, Question: what is better Bak4 or BK 7?
Answere: Bak 4 is used to compensate some spherical aberrations, but prism made without real spherical aberration better using BK 7, because that BK 7 glas is way better in homogeneity than Bak4 and can be much better polished

2, Question. what kind of coating is used in BW optic Binoviewers
answere: Braodband spectral coating with 99.5 5 transmission per surface over the visual spectral range

3, Questions: why one side is in most dimmers than on other side and why some are more similar on each side ?
answere: standart nonobstructed systems with best coatings show and must show a bit diffrenc ein brightness due diffrent long optical path. Binoviewers showing equal brightness on both sides using a design with 30~50% obstruction at one side . Some technics excist to make a binoviewer looking equal bright on each side, but it requires very special ultraexpensive coatings and such binoviewers going for not less than $ 2,000 worldwide on the market

The Tubes are CNC mashined alutubes, made in Europe, using the famous Starlightinstruments Feather Touch Focuser 2", offering a maximum backfocuse of 9.5 inch, coming with a tubering , ready to go on phototripods and accepting finders like the famous Tele Vue Starbeam.
