Ignorance and tradition are what keep any movement from spreading. Assume that Hindu was the True Way. Do you think a couple of billion Christians, Muslims and Buddhists are going to give up centuries of tradition?

Then again, maybe Christianity is the only evangelical, preach and convert movement.

And, the wide diversity of beliefs within the Christian movement preclude an effectivre, large scale evangelical effort

Which method of shipping/mailing astro equipment bought or sold on Astromart do you prefer (USPS, UPS, Fed Ex, etc)- and why? (especially more expensive, fragile equipment)

Bill- I've edited this a bit to move it from the religious to the philisophical =

Three employees passed their lives doing good work.

The first chose to do good work because he feared getting fired if he didn't.

The second chose to do good work because he was promised a huge bonus, raise and promotion someday if he did.

The third chose to do good work because he really, really loved his profession and job and got deep personal satisfaction from it.

Which of the three would you want to work for you?

My Answer: Number 1 - short term employee
Number 2 - eventually will not work out because he's too ambitious - will act superior to others and offend them.

Number 3 - I love this guy and I'd want him to be my employee and some day, my partner in my business.

The Sensibility of Amtr. Astronomers

The first time I took my wife with me to an astronomy event (NEAF) she remarked afterwards that she'd never been with a group of people who were so well-behaved, civil, pleasant and polite.

In reflecting on the few posts placed here about the return of Elizabeth Smart compared the garbage being posted and phoned in and reported on other venues, I can only say what a admirable group of folks you are. I'm compelled to say this because of personal acquaintences I have in the Smart family. Thank you.

Death is not the end. Death is really a beginning—another step forward in God's plan for His children. Death is a necessary step in one's progression, just as one's birth is.
