I would like to find out if anyone knows the difference in optical performance of the Synta made 100 mm F/9 ED scopes (sold by Orion, Skywatcher, Celestron and Vixen) as compared to the Celestron OMNI XLT 102 ED F/8.8 (which I guess might have been also made by Synta as well) I believe both have the same 900 mm focal length.
Skywatcher still sells the 100 mm ED F/9 as the Skywatcher Pro model, while Orion, Celestron and Vixen no longer sell it. The Celestron OMNI XLT 102 ED F/8.8 is no longer sold by Celestron.
Regards.

Hi Guys. I need to decide about this scope. I read reviews and many discussions about it. It is all subjective. Need pictures that tell how its optics perform and provide an objective evaluation.

Hi, Where did you buy the scope from? Does it have a manual that describes the lens design?

The 140mm F/5.7, 4 element (two doublets) scope from Vixen with two speed focuser sells new for $1799.00 at OPT. This 150mm Skywatcher scope at OPT is advertised for $599.00.

On Skywatcher website it appears that they have the Synta made 150mm achro with 1200mm focal length. They call it F/8.3 scope???? It should be 1200/150 or F/8 (bad math????)

They also say "4-layer multi-coated achromatic lens" and "Professional-class instrument, allowing serious research of the planets"

The Celestron equivalent sells for $499 at Astronomics
