Weren't the gun "nuts" right?

Posted By Patrick Keafer

I remember Rod making fun of the people who went out and bought guns after Obama's election and re-election.

But after the recent events in CT, weren't those people ultimately correct? At first chance, liberals jump to ban guns or restrict access to them when politically expedient.

When asked "where he was" on the issue for the past four years by a Fox News reporter, the President basically said he was "busy".

No assault weapon used

Posted By Patrick Keafer

Looks like only pistols were used at Sandy Hook and the shooter was denied a purchased based on CT law. I wish libs would stop trying to take freedoms away from legal gun owners.

A liberal conversion or hypocrite?

Posted By Patrick Keafer

Remember David Bonior?

Well apparently he has converted a bit after trying his own hand in business. It is a shame he didn't try this before he became a congressman so he could have spared us all the damage he did.

Some choice quotes:

“Small-business people work very hard,” said the 68-year-old, who has spent most of his life in government. “If you are a small-business guy, you are out there and not as protected as a government employee. They struggle every day. A snow day, a government worker is off. A restaurant person takes a hit from that snow day. This winter was very, very tough on the [restaurant] industry.”

Bonior said if he had the power, he would lighten up on pesky regulations. “It took us a ridiculous amount of time to get our permits. I understand regulations and . . . the necessity for it. But we lost six months of business because of that. It’s very frustrating.”

To make the numbers work, he pays his 50 or so employees — who are not union members — what he calls “the tip wage,” which is $2.36 an hour. He said that when he was in Congress, he worked hard to increase the “tip wage,” but it was a casualty from the successful effort to increase the minimum wage."

No living wage??????????????? No union?????

Most employees who were on the restaurants’ health plans have signed up for coverage via the Affordable Care Act. Bonior’s restaurants do not have retirement plans, although he says he plans to institute them in the future. Bonior tries to motivate employees with baseball tickets and discount meals.

Crappy health care and no retirement plan??????

Is the Tea Party over?

Posted By Patrick Keafer

Not only is support for the tea party movement at an all-time low of 15% but Republican voters around the country seem to have chosen more mainstream, electable conservatives in primaries across the country.

http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2014/may/21/tea-party-support-hits-new-low-poll-says/

These numbers seem to indicate a waning power within the GOP for the tea party. Will the few remaining tea partiers break ranks and go third party or will they continue to vote for Republicans?

Kiss of death?

Looks like Chris Matthews defended the tea party in a recent interview on PMSNBC. In addition, the host, Ronan Farrow, called David Brat's campaign "refreshing". Uh oh.....Do they know something we do not?

Poland: US ties worthless

Posted By Patrick Keafer

There can be no greater example of the mess this President has made of the US foreign policy that in Poland.

A Polish magazine said Sunday it has obtained recordings of a private conversation in which the foreign minister says Poland's strong alliance with the U.S. was worthless and "even harmful because it creates a false sense of security."

Poland is probably our most loyal ally in eastern Europe and we have completely alienated and lied to them. This guy was very pro-USA before the Obama admin too. What a mess!

Worst Sec of State Ever?

Posted By Patrick Keafer

See for yourself. Everyone hates John Kerry. Probably the most damning this said was this:

Despite the tendency to criticize US Secretary of State John Kerry’s efforts, credit should be given where credit is due. Over the weekend, Kerry did manage to facilitate something in the Middle East: unparalleled unanimity.

Israel, the Palestinian Authority, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Jordan were all in agreement that Kerry’s efforts were undermining the attempt to bring about a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas as quickly as possible. Moreover, Kerry’s framework and the ideas he presented led to an extraordinary phone call taking place between a senior Palestinian Authority official and an Israeli counterpart, during which the two mocked the senior diplomat’s naivete and his failure to understand the regional reality.

You know it's bad...

...when your own media allies turn against you.

Liberal Washington Post columnist Dana Milbank has finally recognized what we conservatives have been saying for this entire term. Obama has checked out.

Obama vacations as the world burns

"Hillary Rodham Clinton, his once-loyal secretary of state and his likeliest successor, has gone rogue, criticizing his foreign policy as too timid.
Obama responded with not one but two rounds of golf..."

"...Obama stood on the South Lawn on Saturday updating Americans on the new bombing campaign in Iraq — and then he boarded Marine One for a two-week trip to Martha’s Vineyard. There, half an hour after arriving at his vacation home, he was already on his way to a golf course. He played again Sunday, then had a beach outing Monday followed by a political fundraiser."

"...By Monday afternoon, the crises had forced Obama to revise his schedule. The White House announced that the president, after returning from the beach, would make an unscheduled statement about Iraq...Obama finished his four-minute statement and then hopped in his motorcade for the ride to a Democratic fundraiser."
