18mm Radians

Posted By MARK KLIMKIEWICZ

Anyone use 18mm or shorter radians in their binoviewers? Good, Bad? Looking to go that route. Thanks.

Grand Canyon North Rim

Posted By MARK KLIMKIEWICZ

I'd like to hear people's viewing experiences at the North Rim. What time of the year did you go? What was the weather like and viewing conditions? Crowds? How does it compare with other dark sites? I've only been to Cherry Springs in PA so if anyone's been to both I'd be curious to hear the comparisons. Thanks in advance.

10" Teeter still available

Posted By MARK KLIMKIEWICZ

I can't believe the 10" Teeter scope is still available in the classifieds. If I didn't already have 2 10's I'd jump on it myself. Fact is I've looked through this scope and at F/6 it's really incredible. Best view of Jupiter I ever saw through a 10" along with my Teleport. Up here in the Northeast 10" is a very good size performance-wise when you consider cool-down time. Anyway, just thought I'd throw that out there.

Southwest Observing Locations and Astronomy Clubs

My understanding is that Florida has incredibly good seeing due to steady skies. How is the southwest in that respect? I would think that the low humidity would lend to large temperature shifts after nightfall and create rather unsteady skies. Any first-hand experiences out there? Thanks.

Jupiter in Eon 120 daylight shadow transit

Posted By MARK KLIMKIEWICZ

Hi there, I had my 90mm f/5.5 asrotech ED out last night around 6:30 and saw what I also thought may have been a transit. I was using a 5mm nagler which gave me about 100x. Thanks for the confirmation.
