Hi all,
Got any good tips on tracking down the outer planets. Neptune and Uranus are in opposition in August. What should I expect to see? (I have a Celestron 8" SCT.)

Eye Strain

Hi ,
What do you do to handle the eye strain? I cant go past 3hours . I hear people observing all night how do you do it? I feel like my eyes are going thru the back of my head. Am I doing something wrong or what?

I saw "The Veil"

I saw the Veil Sunday AM, Thin smokey wisps floating on a jet black sky. Takes your breathe away doesnt it. It seemed easier to see with the cheapest eyepiece I had go figure.

Another mirror making a question

Hi All,
I am new to this mirror making thing so please forgive my explanation. I am grinding a 8" plate glass. My question is should my spherometer reading be almost the same across the mirror reading are 0.083 around the edges and 0.084 in the center of the mirror the reading are consistant . I was aiming for F6 which would have been a sagita of 0.079 ( oops ) misjudged my fine grinding.
