M57 - L from Hx916 and color from a D60

Hi

The following image is the LRGB combination of an L image
from a Hx916 and the RGB image is from a Canon D60 image.
Both images were taken with a C14.

The D60 M57 image was one of the first images captured with
the D60 early last summer and could be much better.

M42 - D60

Hi

The following image is a 9 x 3 minute ISO 400 exposure
using a Canon D60. A 30 second M42 core exposure was mask added to the 27 minute exposure of the outer nebula. The result is:

This was supposed to be an integration of 18 300 second exposures using a D60 but all but 6 were ruined by a hugh dust spot that covered M27. Image details are available in the caption under the image.

Thanks Jim and Ivan.

Some slightly used D60s may start to appear on ebay by the
end of the year when people start to upgrade to the Canon
1DS.

Last Crescent Moon and Crescent Venus

M1 - Canon 1DS

Hi

No much chance the last 5-6 weeks for imaging since its
been so cloudy. A few weeks ago it did clear long enough
to capture 24 5 minute exposures of M1 using a Canon 1Ds at
ISO 1250. I did not compensate for red extinction by the
atmosphere and the rae images were taken with a 3/4 moon.

I would like try M1 again using H-alpha, H-beta, and OIII
filters with the 1Ds. This will need to wait for clear skies.

6 Day Moon

Here is an image of the last 6 day moon captured with a 180mm TMB at F9 and Canon 1Ds. A single 4064x2704 16-bit tiff, ISO 400, and 1/100 second exposure captured the 6 day moon. Brightness levels, curves, contrast, and deconvolution were applied to the raw image to enhance detail using ImagesPlus 1.70.

M27 - 180mm TMB at F9 and Canon 1Ds

Here is a recent image of M27 taken with a Canon 1Ds digital SLR. Natural color matrix was used for the 10 ISO 800 5 minute exposures.

All processing in ImagesPlus with details under the image.

M27 - 160 minute H-alpha

Here is a excluded min/max average stack of 16 10 minute exposures of M27 using a 180mm TMB at F9 and ST-10XME with Astronomic H-aplha filter.

Camera control by CCDOPS.
