I am part of the SSSP tour that was to goto Bolivia this week. I talked to Jen a couple of weeks ago. It has been rescheduled to July 31 - Aug.7, due to the extreme instability of the country. Others in the SSSP tour can also elect to goto David Levy's Comet workshop (also in the same location) on Aug.27 - Sept. 4th.
I really hope the situation calms down by August.

Does anyone know if the Winters went ahead with the Southern Skies Star Party this week despite the 3 weeks of prior unrest and street violence in Bolivia over the natural gas controversy? The country is now in a state of internal blockade and I fear for the safety of the participants if they are indeed there. We had a, shall I say, interesting time (one that I would not want to repeat) getting out of the country on the day before a national referendum on the issue last year. There is no notice on the web site of a cancelation.
