Nice shot!

CCDSft has both hot and cold pixel removal which seems to work pretty well. I'll usually go in with the clone tool in photoshop and clean up stray hot and cold pixels as well.

NGC6946 and NGC6939

Wow, Tom, really nice. Such beautifual stars. All this time I've been thinking those stars are just getting in the way of the nebulas I've been trying to shoot. ;-)

What are those red lines off the star in the bottom right corner?

Also, what are some of the imaging and processing details?

Thanks,
Phil

Larry - thanks for posting that execellent quick review. Even though its only a paragraph its one of the more thorough reviews of the 102Ed that I've seen so far.

Hi,
I currently own an ed 100 which I really enjoy using but I would like to get some more aperture. I need advice/opinions. my budget is about $3000.

Question questions...
Well what do I do?????? grin grin :S :S

Hi Itz Marcus,

I don't remember seeing if you mentioned what kind of a mount you have? I like someone's suggestion up above somewhere about a C9.25, if you have a decent mount. You can often find these on amart for $700-$900 for the OTA and they're consistently good visually. These were being sold at one time with the old CG5 mounts and an inadequate tripod.

Another option would be to go with a high quality dob. I've looked through a bunch of the Astrosystems Telekits and you really get a lot of aperture and quality for the money.

Flaming Star and Friends in Ha

That's a super shot Dean. I love the wide-field bringing all those objects together.

Yup, cold and snow. I keep shoveling out the area around my pier only to have it get filled in again the next day!

Got out last night in the cold and got my first shots in a couple months.
