Tell me what you think?

Posted By Steven Choi

Floyd,

The fact that you post your concern on this forum shows that you care about what you sell and the satisfication of the buyer. I personnally think that your offer is very fair.

As for the buyer, if he is new to this hobby, I think the best is to ask him return the EP and refund him including shipping cost to avoid bad rating.

If he is not new to this hobby, I would guess that he should know one or two thing about cleaning eyepieces, especially with specks on the outside of the lens. It smell very fishy to me that he wants compensation !!!

Windex on mirrors and lens

Posted By Steven Choi

So, windex on lens is o.k. but not on mirror ? Is that because windex contains ingredient that attack aluminium ? By the way, before you use your saliva, please wash your mouth first especially after food ! .

Speaking of coatings?

Try "Varasol" a kind of paint thinner but not 100% sure if it will react with alum.

Where can I get a 30" Blank

Posted By Steven Choi

You could try http://pages.videotron.com/asmprod/glass.html

A 24-inch cost $999 and for larger one you will need to contact them for a quote and availability. The BVC glass suppose to be more stable than pyrex and easier to grind and polish because it is soft.

LOMO Astele Mak-Cass collimation information

Posted By Steven Choi

I have the 180 and I think it have the same retaining ring as the 150. The corrector rest on three strips of aluminum tape spaced 60 degree apart inside the corrector cell. Make sure that the part of the retaining ring that touches the corrector aligned with these strips. i.e. the retaining ring parts between two set screw. Also to tighten the set screws just enough that the corrector does not move around the cell when tilted. The springy pressure should be enough to prevent movement. Good luck.
