Can somebody enlighten me whether there are some variants in these EPs circulating on the market which would make one version more desirable than other ? Maybe barrel undercut or quality of coating ?

I had the first opportunity to use the Burgess bino with Siebert 1.6x adapter and stock 20mm EP yesterday after sorting out the setup problems (reversion to shorter original Vixen 2" focuser tube adapter helped).
I think I am getting hooked on binoviewing.
There was one annoyance: scrolling the sky, at times there was a "star" of noticeable "magnitude" traveling across the field at different speed and trajectory than the star "background". Of course it was dependent on the direction of the scope move. What it could be, a reflection somewhere ?
Also, how can I measure in some simple way what effective mag. factor I am getting ?

Dob Mount for Meade SN-6

I would like to offer this OTA to my kids on Dob mount. Any recommendations, plans, or abandoned mount in your garage ?
Preferably it would fold so as there would be place for the scope and mount in the trunk on back coutry trips.

Generally I do not accept lowball offers and this was one variant of them when he introduced himself asking me to pay for shipping. I saw an email from an edu domain (I said - some poor student, maybe) so we had a deal. I sent my address and asked for a check. No, he prefers Paypal. I explained that I have Premier account with associated fees and gave it to him expecting that he will add the fee difference. He did't. I gave him the last hint notifying that I am going to use the cheapest parcel post shipping if I have to pay for both shipping and Paypal fees, he replied that's fine with him.

We are speaking about couple dollars here, but this makes it worse in my eyes if somebody likes the deal for himself so hard. I would not deal with this person again.

Mysterious Zeiss eyepieces

I am planning on using Zeiss microscope eyepieces for binoviewing. The lettering says 46 40 02 9901 W10x/25 and the glasses symbol. So it should be a 25mm f.l. and 25mm field lens wide eyepice.
I would like to find more about this model, its design, etc. Not much on the web.
I know, best would be to contact Zeiss or Markus but maybe somebody here knows more..

Dew at WSP

I am wondering how much I need to invest for dew protection coming to the WSP from dry AZ ( a record 102 days w/o rain has been just broken).
I am thinking of Astrosystem's secondary mirror heater with a temp
probe. I like it is autonomous, can be fed from a 9V battery.
Now with the main mirror having a bottom fan, do I need to be worried
of the primary mirror dewing over ?

Center spotting the mirror

I have 24h before shipping out my new reflector to WSP and found that the mirror is not marked. There is a center ca. 2 inch protective film for the "foot" of the mirror cover but no center cutout in the film nor a marked spot. A web instruction would ne nice.

Arches star party ?

I have just come back from visiting most of the SW National Parks. I really liked the Arches NP which also has a secluded campground. I am thinking about combining (part of ) the North Rim of the Grand Canyon Star Party with going to Arches
Have you observed there before ?
