Anyone own a new 7" with the UHTC coatings? Just wondering how they are. Ive owned a couple of the older ones, and just ordered a new one. Any comments on the new 7", or any with new coatings? Do the coatings seem any better than before?

5" ETX GOTO, and Celestron 5" single fork GOTO. Im sure these were debated some time back, but I never seem to have heard much of the ETX5". The celestron seems to be more attractive just because of the mount. I never liked how close the tube is to the base on the ETX. The celestron package looks lighter, and more compact.
This will just be a portable set up for me, and not my main scope. Anyone have any comments on these two scopes I would sure like to hear them. From what Ive seen in the past Maks sure impress a little more than a SCT. They both cost the same, and the goto doesnt mean too much to me. Id buy the old non goto single fork if I could buy one new. Its a shame they dont still offer it.

What do you guys think of this eyepiece. Ive used a 40mm pentax, and a 35mm panoptic. Compare it to either of those if you would. Thanks,

Televue 102.

I read a review in one of the magazines a while back about the 102 televue. Ive heard a lot of good things about the scope, but have never seen one. I was wondering what the inside of the tube is like. I believe I read theres no baffels? is it just painted flat black or something? Seems a little odd.
Also, how are the focusers on these?

Televue 102 problem.

Thanks Bob, Ive had a lot of people respond by saying contact Televue. I had planned on contacting Anacortes first so they would know what was up. Not their fault of course. Anyways Herb seen my post on a group, and its on. The scopes going to Televue, and Ill follow up with what the problem was.

Heres my favorites in my DVD collection. Only have 18 but they build up quick.
Lord of the rings extended. (read the books if you havent)
Jackass the movie!!!! Ive watched it 5 times in the past week. Its too funny!
DVD music -Incubus, the morning view session.
Im looking for the DVD called how to star test (correctly), and chose the perfect APO refractor. Anyone seen it?

My friend Mike Newton just completed his roll off roof observatory. He has an ST8E/CFW and a 1200 AP goto. Hes waiting on a 16" Royce mirror. So... for the time being Im letting him use my 8" celestron tube. He wanted me to put this pic on my server so he could post to AP. I thought Id post it here, I think its pretty good.
So heres M51 prime focus through my 8". Im not sure exposure times, but if anyones really that interested I can post it later.
