What Happens..........

Posted By Thomas Wos

I'm wondering what happens inside a "believer's" mind, when he steps up to bat in the National League playoffs, and invokes God's grace with the sign of the cross before each pitch, and then he pops up and makes an out?
Does this diminish his faith, or is his God just not listening?

His reaction must rationalize something.

Does this trivialize the concept of The Creator?....or does it trivialize his efforts?

Is Saddam Lurking?

Posted By Thomas Wos

I think it's a little strange that no one seems to talk about this, but..... we totally rousted Saddam, then killed his two sons, so........

To me, logic says that Saddam may be masterminding at least some of the attacks on our troops, and possibly coordinating some of the other attacks on police stations, U.N. and Red Cross buildings.

What do you'all think?

Confusing Quote?

Posted By Thomas Wos

This is the first section of a story from Reuters News Service today. I find the quote by General Peter Pace somewhat confusing.

"Pace also told the House of Representatives Armed Services Committee that the Bush administration had put off much of the planning for the aftermath of the Iraq war -- launched on March 20 -- out of concern such planning would bring on the conflict.
''We did not want to have planning for the post war make the war inevitable. We did not want to do anything that would prejudge or somehow preordain that there was definitely going to be a war,'' he said.
The United States, meanwhile, rejected Russian and U.N. proposals that international inspectors return to Iraq to look for weapons of mass destruction, none of which have so far been found."

Did'nt the attack literally take months of intense planning, yet they did'nt want to make post war plans because of fear that it would start a war?

Am I missing something?

Jethro Tull was right!

Posted By Thomas Wos

Fantastic news day this Sunday morning.

***"Pollutants Enter Arctic Food Chain"***

"The bodies of Arctic people, particularly Greenland's Intuit, contain the highest human concentrations of industrial chemicals and pesticides found anywhere on Earth - levels so extreme that the breast milk and tissues of some Greenlanders could be classified as hazardous waste." (Los Angeles Times)

***"Powell: Iraq might not have had WMDs"*** (Associated Press)

Jethro Tull was right when they sang "Locomotive Breath".

The throttle of the military-industrial train is on full, and broken off..... and we're all passengers !!!

Where is Hope?

The Grim Reaper Needs Righteousness Too!

Posted By Thomas Wos

Death has many faces, the Grim Reaper, Shiva The Destroyer, The Angel of Death.....but when the innocent are extinguished, the flame of humanity is diminished irrevocably.

Those who died in the World Trade Center attack, and the innocent Iraqi citizens sluffed off by us as collateral damage, have fallen into this dark moral chasm we call righteousness.

END THE KILLING !!!!!!!

STOP THE WAR !!!!!!

The Bigger Picture

Posted By Thomas Wos

The beheading of anyone is unquestionably barbaric, and unjustifiable.

That being said, how do we justify killing many, many Iraqi civilians, (including women and innocent children), when the vast majority of the 9/11 attackers were Saudi Arabian citizens?

This is a great mystery to me.

The hate generated by this "collateral damage" is less mysterious.

Toxins in American Environment

Posted By Thomas Wos

I live on Puget Sound in Northwestern Washington State, Bellingham. Every body of inland water, in my part of the state, has warnings posted for methyl mercury, a by-product of coal burning. Fish are unsafe to eat. Our prevailing source of weather and air, is off of thousands of miles of Pacific Ocean. Methyl mercury is an airborne chemical.

I perceive this as a global problem.

One important aspect of chemical toxins, is that when combined with other unrelated toxins, in our bodies for example, the effective toxicity level INCREASES dramatically. Small amounts of methyl mercury alone MAY be "safe". But when combined with literally hundreds of other toxins in our bodies, the safety level is highly suspect! This cumulative effect is more often that not, overlooked and ignored.

PEACE
Tom
