Orion Stratus?

Hi All,

Who has tried the Orion Stratus eyepieces? How do they stack up against Radians and Panoptics? Is light thru-put really as close to plossls as the Astromart review claims?

Scientific Relativism?

While reading posts on the topic of I.D. in the classroom, It occurred to me that something seems to now be occurring on the Right (religious or otherwise), that has mainly occurred on the Left. Let me explain: cultural or moral relativism is something much of the Left seems to adhere to, and much of the Right abhors. But now, some on the Right seem to be saying: "well, Evolution is just a theory. I.D. is also a theory. Why not teach them side-by-side? " This seems to me to be a dangerous path to start down. I think we've relatevised enough (and in fact need to do some back-tracking); let's not do it to science, too.

I got on the list July, 2000. Got a letter and email from AP late Feb/early Mar., but had to turn it down for financial reasons. Broke my heart. Bought a Tak FS-128 in 2003, though. Wonderful scope.

Nice Aurora Sunday Night!

When my son was nine or ten, I got him out of bed during the wee hours to see an aurora display (a rarity here in central Ky.). Last night, (about 15 years later) he returned the favor. We watched it for about half an hour. Wonderful.

Budget mount for an FS-128?

I have an fs-128 on a gm-8 mount. The gm-8 handles the weight of the 128 and tracks just fine, but the scope is pretty wobbly at higher powers; when you focus at such powers the scope moves, and to me, it is irritating. The portability of the gm-8 is hard to beat, but I would get the G11.
