Rod, you can take a horse to water. You will never admit you are ever politically wrong, so talking politics with you is a huge waste of time. If you were ever willing to take a critical look at your positions you might see what I am saying. How could your party always be right? How could you always be right? Also, I did decide I was on the wrong side of many issues.
And the US gov did decide to back up after it got some press.

What matters is what Putin sees and hears. News reports are that senior administration officials told the NYT US has provided intel to Ukrainian armed forces and that it had been used to help kill Russian generals. Like I repeated let's kill and destroy but it is stupid to have US officials talk about it. It is not smart to poke a short dictator and have the world know we are helping to kill his armed forces and making him look smaller and smaller. Let's not find out how dangerous he can be when he is maybe VERY provoked.

Oh, and maybe this is nothing like bragging, having our officials tell that we have helped make Putin's job very difficult by killing and destroying his armed forces. The little man has had a difficult time and we have made it more difficult. Are you guys sure that he cannot be poked enough to make our lives very difficult. Maybe for a long time to come. But we sure showed him who was tough.
