Hello everyone,

The Hubble Space Telescope will image the Red Oval BA or Red Jr on
April 8 from 2:23-3:13UT. Then is lead by the group of Dr Amy
Simon-Miller. I would like to request everyone especially in western
Europe and Eastern Americas especially south America or western
Africa to do a joint imaging for this event.

The second and third HST imaging session will take place on April
16-17 which is the imaging session of my group headed my Dr Imke de
Pater. Will get you the final details on this next week.

Jupiter 4/07 GRS and Red Jr with HST

Posted By Christopher Go

Here's an image of Jupiter about 1 rotation before the image which will be made by the Hubble Space Telescope by the group of Dr Amy Simon-Miller. Seeing was perfect at 9/10 with 5/5 transparency!

Note the two ovals inside the BA. The disturbance above the BA seem to have dissipated.

Note the two bright NNTB ovals and the dark red barge right next to it!

The SEB is very busy with the wake of the GRS. While the NEB has 2 white spots and 2 dark red barges.

More images later with better view of the GRS!

Jupiter 4/12 A Perfect Night!

Posted By Christopher Go

Hello Everyone,

Seeing was 10/10 this evening with 5/5 transparency. I was having problem with the very bright moon which affected color balance!

Note the surface details on Ganymede and Callisto. Note also the huge Z spot on the NEB and the very busy SEB.

Jupiter 4/13 New STB WOS?

Posted By Christopher Go

Hello Everyone,

Seeing wasn't that great this evening. Only 8/10. This is the area just before the GRS! Note the bright White Oval on the STB on the left.. Is this a new WO?

Jupiter 4/16 Joint HST Image

Conditions weren't perfect this morning because of haze. Here's an image of the GRS and red Oval BA. Note that the red ring of the oval BA has widened!

Jupiter 05/07 Ganymede and Callisto

Posted By Christopher Go

Just arrived from a business trip to the USA. Here's my latest image of Jupiter's boring side. The surface marking on Ganymede and Callisto is very obvious.

Note the bright spot on the STB and the bigt spot above it on the SSTB. There is also a dark spot on the STrZ/STB border close to the CM. The NTrB is busy.

The SEB is filled with rifts an spots. Note the Z spot setting on the left. The Big red NNTB spot is also visible.

Jupiter and Io Transit 5/19

Here's my first image after Typhoon Chanchu brought 2 weeks of rain here. Seeing was good but transparency was fair at around 3/5. I had to image through thin clouds.

Jupiter 05/28 GRS and Oval BA getting closer!

Posted By Christopher Go

Hello,

This is probably one of my best image of Jupiter! I have finally resolved a hint of the spiral vortex inside Oval BA!! This was very clear on the HST image.

Both the GRS and Oval BA are moving very closer now! They will have a conjunction in mid-July!
