Fox News: Michael Flynn Is Innocent!

The Clinton's have been investigated over and over, again and again, ad nauseam. How many indictments have resulted in all that tremendous waste of taxpayer money? None. Zero. Zilch. Nada.

It's been my experience that the simplest explanation is often the correct one, and that explanation is that they have not been indicted because there is no evidence to support an indictment.

Meanwhile, in less than two years, there are six significant investigations into Trump and his associates in progress by the DOJ and state Attorney Generals. These investigations have led to multiple indictments, jail time, and guilty pleas and convictions. The actors in these crimes are not small fish, and it is certain that we are not even close to seeing all of the fallout that will occur. All of this criminality in plain sight and your only explanation is that there is a double-standard? The simplest explanation is that Donald Trump is a man with absolutely no public sector experience and who has serious character flaws that together make him the most uniquely unqualified person to be the POTUS in the modern era. There is no doubt that he will be remembered as the worst President of the modern era; he has already cemented that distinction for sure.

I certainly didn't mean to imply that she is innocent of all crimes. What I specifically said is there is no evidence to support an indictment. I suspect that no one spends as much time in the public sector as the Clinton's have, especially at the level they have, and not sooner or later broken some laws. However, show me the indictments. Investigations into Hillary's business, personal, and political life have taken on just about any shape or form you could imagine. After all the decades though, here we are with no indictments.

Meanwhile, in only two years nearly every aspect of Trump's dealings are under investigation, and all available evidence is that serious crimes have been committed not only by Flynn but probably Trump himself. I certainly would not be surprised if Mueller has sealed indictments just waiting for Trump. Not only are the wheels coming off of the Trump White House, but the axles are also now coming off too. It boggles the mind that anyone could look at the dumpster fire that is the Trump Presidency and somehow think it's all just because of poor Trump's mistreatment by the media, or the justice system, or whatever is the current institution expediently blamed for his incompetence.

Many people were somewhat wrong last time. However, if the next two years are anything like the last two years, I don't see how Trump could have the backing of the GOP donors necessary to run again. There are lots of reports that say Adelson is already distancing himself from Donald, and in the modern GOP, nobody goes the distance without first winning the Adelson primary.

The truth is, what they talked about none of us know. However, if you are incensed about that meeting, then you may want to reserve some of your outrage for this latest reporting about Trump venting his frustration about the SDNY at Whitaker since the explosive Cohen revelations. The POTUS shouldn't be conversing with the DOJ about any criminal investigation, much less one that directly involves himself. This investigation that has nothing to do with Mueller is the one that has the most potential to end up in a felony conviction for Trump. Double-standards indeed.

Anybody Find Merit In Rand Paul Remarks?

Paul easily asks his interviewers questions they can't answer.

In today's world, a conventional war between the major superpowers is too costly. Between our economic entanglement and modern military killing power, an all-out war between for example NATO on one side and Russia and China, on the other hand, is unfathomable. The cost in lives and misery is incalculable. As a result, we end up fighting a lot of proxy wars that may or may not involve American boots on the ground, but certainly involve providing funding and weapons. Proxy wars tend to be open-ended conflicts without clear enemies or sure endings, but like it or not, they often serve the national security interests of the US at a fraction of the cost of traditional warfare. Of course, proxy wars have all kinds of risks associated with them such as when the law of unintended consequences strikes and you end up alienating or radicalizing the allies you were counting on to fight for your interests. Like it or not though, the US and other superpowers are going to be involved in proxy wars for a long time to come. The puzzle is they are almost always easier to start than they are to finish.

Nice straw man, but clearly, Patrick said nothing of the kind. He is saying that one reason people voted for Trump is that they were hoping that a populist outsider would be good for the country and Washington politics as usual, but instead, we got a bumbling, incompetent, narcissistic pathological liar who has utterly failed to fulfill the responsibilities of the office. Pretty simple really. As far as voting for Hillary goes, she would of course not been perfect, but only the base of Trump's support at this point can genuinely believe she would have been worse than Trump.

Trump's doin' better than any other 'conservative' Republican President in my lifetime, aside from Reagan.

Trump is an amoral leader whose only ideology seems to be that he has to be the center of attention. Trump has done more to harm the GOP brand than any Republican President in recent memory. He is not an ultimate deal maker or a master negotiator unless you believe that North Korea has denuclearized or that three government shutdowns in one year while the GOP controls the House, Senate and White House are indicative of such skills. Trump is not a self-made billionaire; instead, he is a spoiled, petulant child who received hundreds of millions of dollars from his father's fortune by dodging taxes. He is a serial adulterer who has illegally paid porn stars and Playboy bunnies hush-money. The only thing that has saved his popularity to date is the economy, and that by all accounts appears to be slowly but surely deteriorating as his disastrous tariffs, trade policies, and tax policies catch up to him. A majority of Americans now want Trump impeached or censured; he's losing the latest government shut-down row in a rout, and his popularity is waning by the day. His staff turnover is outrageously high and indicative of a White House in chaos especially given the latest resignation of Mattis who rebuked the President and his foreign policy on his way out the door. Honestly, it boggles the mind that anyone could think this is a good President.

I think it's okay to say you voted your conscience. That does not mean that we got a good President. For example, Mueller has just referred yet another Trump-related criminal case to the FBI, and this time it involves federal immigration crimes at one of Trump's golf clubs. The irony of this aside, I prefer President's who don't commit crimes.

I want to point out for at least the millionth time; this is a classic straw-man argument. Clearly, Russ never said, "I'm a big fan of cheap Chinese labor because of its harmful effects." It's utterly amazing how often you do this.
