For tens of thousands of years mankind had only eyes with which to view the heavens. In the last 400 years or so we've had telescopes. In the last 20 years, fine equipment has made its way into the amateur market.

You saw things the other night that were millions of miles and light years away, that most amateurs never get a chance to see and you're complaining about not seeing the Tasco box-lid photo image - or Hubble?

The pleasure most of have is in the awe of what we're seeing, how far away it is in distance and time - and the breadth and scope of the universe and nature's handiwork.

The reaction of those you were with who have so many years of experience says it all. Stop a minute and think about what you're seeing. Then again, one can take up golf.

PAINTBRUSH good enough for cleaning lenses????

Dr. Clay Sherrod has tested the following paintbrush extensively and recommends it for cleaning the corrector plate on SCTs.

Wooster Shortcut - White China Bristle for Oil and Paint Varnish. Available at Lowes, Home Depot etc.

Again, he recommended this on the LX-90 site after he had done a lot of testing. That being said, the caution of only cleaning or dusting optics occasionally is valid.

One of my kids wants to be an artist. He DID get a scholarship to a very fine art school. BUT - do you know what the difference between and artist and a pizza is?
The pizza can feed a family of four!

James - a lot of people in my age group (the 40-60 crowd) also remember paying for darned near everything related to college, cars,etc. I just wonder if those days are gone.

1. It's too bad that mentally unbalanced bigots and their views seem to make so many headlines.

2. It's funny to me when a "reverend's wife" , or anyone for that matter, pronounces God's judgement on someone else. The scriptures are explicit that judgement is the Lord's and that we should "judge not, lest we be judged".
A certain forum contributor of the past with the initals PT was a regular god-like judge of the people.

3. If you believe in God, you must also believe that he will ultimately work out the judgements and punishments for murderers and hate mongers - after all we can do. If you do not believe in God, then you must be satisfied that mortal men will never get it all correct - and just work to right the injustices.

But if we don't get this thing under control the pressure to pull out will get enormous. I supported the incursion and war - but I am dismayed at our inability to control the post-attack environment. I blame the guy that really impressed me for a while - Rumsfield. I've concluded that he is an egomaniac who will not face the reality of what we're facing here and hasn't got the noodles to execute it.

Someone's got say "You know, we've really screwed this thing up - and we need your (other countries') help to lock this situation down or this is going to be a catastrophe for us all." I really wish Bush would move Rumsfield out of the friggin way and admit we've screwed it up. We've got to eat some crow as a country - this isn't about partisan politics anymore. I'll scrape my crow off the road on the way home and chow down tonight.

Yep, in exchange for a lower than US price on the patented drugs, they give a higher than US price on the generics once the drug goes off patent. In effect, providing the same NPV cash flow stream over the life of the drug as in the US. It's basically smoke and mirrors.

BTW is VAT charged on medicine in Canada?
