While Obama was issuing sanctions to punish Russia for interfering in our elections, Flynn called the Russian Ambassador several times and assured them that the Trump Administration would walk them back, directly undermining the foreign policy interests of the United States. Oh, and then he lied about it to others in the Administration, including Preibus Spicer, and Pence, all of whom then unequivocally put their credibility on the line defending him. Notably, Trump never made that particular lie, which leaves it an open question whether he knew or if Flynn was acting on his order. Oh, and Flynn was also in regular contact with the Russian government during the election, while the Russian Government was actively conducting an espionage campaign with the explicit goal of aiding the Trump campaign.
