Jupiter 02/24 RED OVAL BA and the GRS

Posted By Christopher Go

Finally a better image of Jupiter. Not really that great but it's improving!!

Lots of new things in Jupiter! Note the RED Oval BA!! Also the SSTB ovals are very interesting including the long bluish oval which has really gotten longer since last year!

The GRS is paler now not very red but it has almost the same color as the Oval BA. The SEB to the right of the GRS is really very busy now!

This region of the NEB is rather quiet save for the bright feature associated to an EB Feeston.

The NNTB has 2 dark barges. Lastlly, there is little Europa to the left of Jupiter!

If weather permits, will be constantly monitoring Jupiter!!

Jupiter 02/25 Perfect Night and MULTI SPECTRUM!

Posted By Christopher Go

I have found the sweet spot of the DMK on Jupiter. Here are images of Jupiter with different filters. Tomio Akutsu was with me when I did these images and he lent me some of his special filters. All these images were done with the DMK. The IR980, Methane Band and UV are all long exposure shots.

There are lots of details in Jupiter. Note the very busy SEB and NEB. The EB is filled with Feestons. There is a huge white spot on the NEB/NTrZ border at the CM. There is also an oval red spot on the NEB just after the CM. NNTB spots are also very interesting especially in the IR800 band.

Saturn 3/11

Here's my latest image of Saturn on good conditions. Nothing special as Saturn is quiet and no storms... Note the Encke Minima at the edge of the ring.

Jupiter 3/17 Not so Boring Side

Posted By Christopher Go

Seeing was very good this morning. Sadly transparency was only 3/5
because of haze. This is the not so boring side of Jupiter. Note
the wealth of activity especially in the SSTB and SEB. Note the big
spot forming on the SSTB just before the CM. The NNTB is also filled
with spots include a huge one and a red one around the CM!!
