Arctic 2009 coldest summer in 50 years.

Posted By Doug Peterson

You can click on any year archived and see how cold it was. The earliest, 1958 was a bit warmer than 2009 is shaping up to be. In fact, I clicked thru all 50+ years and this summer so far is colder than all 50+ years of data.

Linzden paper extracts climate sensitivity satellite

Posted By Doug Peterson

The authors demonstrate strong negative feedback from satellite data that explains why current climate models are are so far off observed temps, concluding with a climate sensitivity estimate (increased T from a doubling of CO2 expected by 2100) of 0.5C, about six times smaller than IPCC assumptions.

The peer-reviewed paper referenced has been accepted for publication in Geophysical Research Letters.

The world gone mad

Posted By Doug Peterson

"Three quarters of the employees were rewarded and a quarter, including Stuart McLachlan, the managing director, were fined. Mr McLachlan tried to cut his carbon footprint by buying a bike and cycling 12 miles to work from Richmond, Surrey, to Chancery Lane, in Central London. He also installed energy-saving lightbulbs, but he still exceeded his ration — and was fined £100 — because he flew to his holiday home in South Africa."

More deception from the UN

Posted By Doug Peterson

They kicked out the discredited hocky stick, but replaced it with Hanson's global average temperature plot--problem is it is only thru 2005 but last time I checked this is late 2009, so it cuts in half the flat temps for the last decade. Is this science? Reminds me, the fraudsters that generated the Copenhagen document shows ocean temps thru only 2003, not the demonstrated weak cooling shown since. Is this politics?
