SyFy

I've seen so many channels start out being great, catering to their niche, then over a period of years and changes of ownership, they turn to crap, catering to the greatest common denominator. The Learning Channel (TLC) is a good example.

Oreck XLT is better than Dyson.

Man, I love my Oreck! Best vacuum I've ever used. It does a super job of cleaning my carpets, it's light, and stores easy. It's a great product.

When I bought it, I also got an Oreck mini-canister vacuum for free. It's great for getting into places that the upright can't get and cleaning the inside of my pickup truck.

Where can I get bulk foam, pluckable or not.

Posted By Rex Cox

You might look to see if there is a local source in your area. There are a couple of local companies in Oklahoma City that make and sell several kinds of foam that I buy and cut out myself. I especially like closed-cell foam becuase it doesn't absorb moisture from the atmosphere like open-cell foam does, and it is more rigid, which helps protect heavier items like mounts. Some of the local sources I've used are either manufacturers, packaging shops, or upholstery shops.

I used to fly professionaly and flew to and through Wisconsin several times. I may have gotten clearances from you!

Two Naglers and one Panoptic or ...

Don't sell'em yet. The 21mm Ethos doesn't come out until December. Al Nagler had one at Okie-Tex the week before last, and we played with it in my 18" scope. It's a fantastic eyepiece.

What audio equipment do you own?

Posted By Rex Cox

Pioneer SX-780 receiver, circa 1978
B&W 602 Speakers
Pioneer DV-333 DVD/CD player
Koss pro4/aa headphones

Not exactly class A gear, but then, neither are my ears. I never was one who could hear the dinner bell player farting in the back of the orchestra. I plan to retire the receiver soon for a Denon model, and the DVD player for a blu ray. Oh, and I'm trying really hard to talk myself into getting the new Samsung 55" LED 240Mhz refresh rate TV.

Addendum: Until a few years ago, I owned a JVC KD-A3 cassette deck that made fantastic copies of LP's. Sounded just like the source to my ears. Hated to get rid of it, but it wasn't getting used. I'd always wanted a Nakamichi Dragon, but it was way beyond my means when they were making them.
